FIGHT BACK

The Writing on The Wall

by Jeff Goodall

As more and more young black men kill each other with illegal weapons obtained on the street, more and more accusations are made of "racism", and the anti-gun zealots point to the mayhem as proof positive that even more restrictions should be placed upon legitimate gun owners, i.e. the rest of us. "Our" youth is killing itself, and "we" are to blame, or so the bemused bystanders are told. In my opinion, anyone using a firearm in the commission of a crime should receive a mandatory 10-year sentence in addition to the punishment for the crime itself, and all immigrants committing any firearms offence, including simple possession, should be deported.

As I see it, as long as we allow politicians and special interest groups to ignore the wishes of the majority on matters of immigration and refugees, we will all be dragged down until we find ourselves living in a shattered country more reminiscent of a post-nuclear wasteland than of a modern, civilized society.

If we are to protect ourselves, then any criminal conviction should result in incarceration followed by deportation for any immigrant who is not a citizen. Citizenship requirements should be rigidly enforced, and the residence requirements extended. Citizenship should be denied to anyone without a work history in this country, because as long as welfare in Canada provides a better standard of living than can be obtained by working elsewhere, people will continue to lie and cheat in order to get onto the Canadian gravy-train. Thus, failure to obtain work within a reasonable period of time should be cause for deportation. And in addition, refugee claimants should be placed in secure facilities until both eligibility and suitability have been determined.

A serious side-affect of our open-door immigration policy has been that the Americans now distrust us, and see us as a threat to their security. Any major terrorist attack on the U.S. caused by persons crossing the border from Canada may well result in the Americans taking forcible means to protect themselves, thus putting our sovereignty and even our survival as a nation at stake. The Americans already have far more troops stationed on our borders than would seem necessary, and would love an excuse to "secure" our natural resources for their future use.

And last but not least, continued failure by the established political parties to rectify the abysmal situation not just in Toronto, but in all major Canadian population centres, may well result in the rise of extremist national sentiment that could cause immense upheaval and distress.
