Microsoft hunts for little green men

Toronto--

Microsoft is seeing little green men.

The software giant will be seeing ET-like captains of UFOs until at least mid-July.

In what seems to be the almost feverish global hunt for life on other planets, Microsoft is looking for proof positive. It is inviting users of its MSN Web portal to `take a picture' of a UFO or alien and publish it on their blogs–online scrapbooks–with an explanation how they came across it. (This is London, Evening Standard, June 23, 2005).

There must be untold thousands of potential Steven Spielbergs out there in cyberspace. Or as Microsoft puts it, there's a lot of room here for technical creativity.

It will not be Bill Gates or even Spielberg who get to choose the winner. The best entry will be picked by ex-Ministry of Defence analysts (We all knew they must be good for something). The winner will score a free visit to the Nasa Space Centre in Florida.

No pictures of Bill Gates, please. Snaps of him will not even be considered.

Besides canadafreepress.com has already enshrined Bill as an ageing Harry Potter and nobody who doesn't look like your average space alien really wants to be portrayed as one.

Microsoft's Space Race competition only runs to mid-July, so entry competitors should start snapping.

alien hunters who miss out on the Microsoft space race can look forward to September 25 when Toronto hosts its first major UFO conference at Convocation Hall, University of Toronto.

That's when Mufon Central Canada and ZlandCommunications will sponsor "Canada's first major UFO symposium calling for complete government disclosure concerning the reality of UFOs and the Extraterrestrial presence on Earth."

"The truth about UFOs as well as the innovative and visionary planetary directions needed to understand the meaning behind this phenomenon will be examined."

Journalists, academics, scientists and the general public will be presented with four of the world's most prominent speakers on UFO disclosures, including Steven G. Bassett, keynote speaker from Washington, D.C.–UFO lobbyist and candidate for the U.S. Congress.

according to conference hosts, "Contact with extraterrestrials has been made; validating the presence of a multitude of off-world and highly sophisticated civilizations."

"Secret and radically new technologies related to the energy and propulsion systems used by extraterrestrial has been sequestered by undisclosed U.S. government agencies. This energy will ultimately eliminate the need for fossil fuels. The public will demand its use soon after disclosure is achieved."

Believed to be far superior to earthlings in intelligence, extraterrestrials knew about sustainable development long before Canadian Maurice Strong began teaching us about it.

any money says they're already using Kyoto carbon credits.
