Gold Star families in Iraq

Truth emerging from Iraq even as media ignores it

In life on earth, timing is everything.

Few could ever match the perfect timing of the Gold Star Families to Iraq trip. In the planning stages for a year, the families of american troops who died in Iraq, arrived in the country right at the time when world history is being written.

Most significantly, the families of fallen soldiers were in Iraq when justice finally caught up to dictator Saddam Hussein sentenced to death for crimes against humanity.

Iraqis in some cities spilled out onto the street to dance and fire gun shots into the Sunday air.

Gold Star Families in Iraq, Move america ForwardSaddam, who has said he wants to face a military firing, will hang by the neck.

While in Iraq, these families are able to meet with the people their sons fought and died for.

Many of them share the sentiments of parent John Holley who said he wanted to "experience the same feelings that my son experienced when he was preparing to go to Iraq…sort of walking in his shoes.”

The mainstream media has been strangely silent about the Gold Star Families to Iraq trip. The Drudge Report posted Canada Free Press and america's News Source for a few hours yesterday, for which we are so grateful on behalf of the parents. as far as we know, we were one of only four media outlets that ran the story. a mainstream media that fails its people must still face up to the fact that the Internet is here.

But no media could ever provide for the families of soldiers who died in Iraq, the being there in person to see how the people of Iraq truly feel.

Back in their home country, an election is being fought with Democrats claiming there were no Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq and that President George W. Bush lied.

Yet the momentous trip for families dovetails with news from the New York Times that Saddam Hussein had a nuclear weapons program under development with chilling possibilities that this friend of international terrorists could have been only one to two years away from developing a usable nuclear weapon.

The Gold Star Families to Iraq trip was organized by america's largest grassroots pro-troop organization, Move america Forward www.MoveamericaForward.org, which has updated trip accounts, photographs, audio/video files--all but ignored by the media of their home country.

Contributions from thousands of ordinary americans donated to Move america Forward, paid for the trip.

"The american people are shown a skewed picture of the situation in Iraq day after day by the international news media,” says Melanie Morgan, Chairman of Move america Forward. "We felt it was time to allow the families of U.S. troops who died in Iraq to come see the progress being made in Iraq and report it back to the american people.”

It's been a figurative blaze of yellow ribbons since the arrival of the families on Iraqi soil. The joy of the current troops in Iraq in this stunning show of appreciation for their selfless dedication underlines how liberty for the free world is earned only by a courageous, all-volunteer service in the most dangerous of circumstances.

For the families, no media could compare with seeing face to face for themselves the Iraqi people who their sons and daughters gave their lives for.

The truth suppressed in Iraq has always been an inspirational one: a new Iraq is rising up from the ashes of what was once a state-sponsor of terrorism under dictator Saddam Hussein.

Most provinces in Iraq are without the violence that is shown each day by international media outlets, but for reasons unknown only the most negative developments from Iraq are reported on a regular basis.

Today in Iraq, smiles, hugs and words of encouragement are being wholeheartedly given to the same hard-working troops criticized by a liberal-left media and the likes of Senator John Kerry.

The same media that refuses to report truthfully on america in Iraq just lost the biggest battle of all, word of mouth from americans whose children paid the price of freedom.

The voice of the Gold Star Families to Iraq could never be silenced.

For them, this will always be The trip of a lifetime.

Now, thanks to them, no fallen soldier will ever be forgotten. Their sacrifice and courage will be an inspiration to people everywhere forever.

God Bless our troops in harm's way everywhere. Thank God for the dedication of Move america Forward.
