Dirty Bomb attack

Is organized crime the travel agency of the elusive adnan El Shukrijumah?

Monday, October 16, 2006

al Qaeda general adnan El Shukrijumah really gets around. While his boss man, the world's most wanted terrorist, Osama bin Laden or his bones remain holed up in a cave, El Shukrijumah continues to be the world's most elusive terrorist globe trotter.

Plotting dirty bomb attacks on seven U.S. cities; adnan El Shukrijumah could be in Britain, FBI sources said yesterday.

"adnan El Shukrijumah, who has a £2.5 million bounty on his head, is suspected of planning a spectacular attack using bombs that spread radio active waste. (The Sun.Co.UK, Oct. 16, 2006).

"The FBI is investigating the 31-year-old Saudi-born scientist's UK links, including connections to the Midlands and Birmingham.

"a US source said: "He has travelled extensively in the last years, and we believe this includes the UK."

If adnan El Shukrijumah is a scientist, make that as scientist by stealth.

"adnan El Shukrijumah possesses the uncanny abilities to blend into a crowd, to alter his looks, to assume a multitude of identities." (Paul L. Williams, Canada Free Press, Sept. 18, 2006). "He is the proverbial Mr. Cellophane. Few things about el Shukrijumah indicate his radical Islamic orientation. He is often clean-shaven and never wears a long shirt or chews a toothpick. He has been known to have a beer on occasion (like an average american Joe), to smoke an occasional Camel, and to carry rosary beads in his pocket."

For the elusive al Qaeda general, it's Halloween every day of the year and his covers don't seem to rely on the assistance of time consuming plastic surgery.

"Mr. average" stands somewhere between 5'4" and 5'6", weighing in at 140 pounds. He has black hair, dark eyes, an olive complexion; his face distinguished only by a somewhat pronounced nose.

Because of his asthma, Osama bin Laden's main hope for the future has a voice that can sound nasal and breathless, but he's not likely to strike up a conversation when he shares your aisle seat on the plane.

He could pose as an Italian-american, a Mexican-american, a Canadian, a Saudi, a Jamaican and a Latino from Trinidad.

This lone wolf in sheep's clothing is a trained pilot, an expert in the intricate art of the dirty bomb, and if the FBI's got it right, he's coming soon to an american city near you.

Never intercepted at any airport or hauled off of any flight, el Shukrijumah can, and does, crop up just about anywhere.

Between 1996 and 2000, adnan became the quintessential jet-setter. He traveled to Saudi arabia and Pakistan, where he met with the likes of Ramzi Binalshibh, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, and other members of the al Qaeda high command. He also spent considerable time within al Qaeda camps in afghanistan, where he received training in explosives and special radiological bombs.

In april 2001, he spent 10 days in Panama, where he reportedly met with al Qaeda officials to assist in the planning of 9/11. The following month, he obtained an associate's degree in computer engineering from Broward Community College.

On May 27, 2004, El Shukrijumah was spotted at an Internet caf in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, where he made calls to France, Canada and the U.S. He was described then as badly dressed and bearded. at his table were Mara Salvatrucha leaders (jefes) from Panama, Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador. according to the excited caf owner, who recognized adnan from newspaper photos, he spoke to the jefes in English and Spanish. The Honduran Security Ministry, who confirmed that the elusive trained terrorist had made the telephone calls to the above-mentioned countries, later verified el Shukrijumah's presence at the caf.

He was a no-show at his father, Gulshair el Shukrijumah's funeral when he died of a stroke in Miramar, Florida in June of that year.

From Tegucigalpa, El Shukrijumah Jr. made his way north to Belize, and, from Belize, to Mexico's Quintana Roo State, south of Cancun. He put up in Mexico for much of the summer of 2004. Then in late august, he was spotted in the northern Mexican province of Sonora near the so-called "terrorist valley", the main passageway for illegal aliens, including OTMs (other than Mexicans) and "Special Interest aliens"--to the land of Mickey Mouse, MTV, and George W. Bush.

The travelogue of one adnan El Shukrijumah would fill thick books.

His freewheeling style in getting around the world rests on more than his cunning art of disguise.

Does organized crime play a major role in getting the jet setting adnan El Shukrijumah anywhere he needs to be in the global village?
