Ottawa, Canada, April 20, 2007 –The Natural Resources Stewardship Project (NRSP) calls on the David Suzuki Foundation (DSF) to explain the criteria used to decide which input from Canadians were passed on to the Federal government and media today. A review of the videos and comments that are highlighted on today's DSF Web page report on the issue reveals not a single seriously dissenting view, or even ones asking for input from both sides of the climate change issue, such as that submitted by NRSP.

NRSP uploaded its own video to the Suzuki You Tube "If You were Prime Minister" group on February 16 and it was initially viewed by 888 discrete visitors to the site resulting in intense on-line discussions both for and against the views expressed therein. On March 31, the NRSP video was deleted for reasons that are unknown to this day. Here is the main script of NRSP's video comment:

"If I were Prime Minister, I would order an immediate, open, unbiased hearing into the science of climate change. I would invite in scientists on both sides of this issue, easily the most complex humans have ever tackled. This has never happened to date, and in fact we need it now, before we make any further decisions about what could be a very costly mistake. In the meantime we do have to continue to work on air, land and water pollution and of course such things as species at risk. But the idea that humans have a significant contribution, and a negative one, to global climate is in fact a hypothesis, one that we need to hear both sides of before making important policy decisions."

112 more discrete viewers have seen it since the new upload, making it the 16th highest ranked video of the entire collection of 597 in the Suzuki You Tube group. However, of the hundreds of videos and comments highlighted by the DSF in their announcement today, NRSP's input was ignored, as were any others that may have contested the views of Dr. Suzuki.

David Suzuki said on launching his tour "I want to hear your concerns and your solutions to protect our environment, our health and our future and I'll make sure the politicians listen". NRSP asks whether he really meant that he would pass on only the views that coincided with his own.
