None Dare Call it the Day Obama Got Away With It

We shouldn’t be talking about a fiscal cliff. It should be known as the Day Obama Raised Taxes on Everybody. But the Fourth Branch of Government won’t allow that.
If Republicans take their usual approach to negotiations with Obama, democrats will win an immediate tax increase and the republicans will agree to accept imaginary spending cuts at some date uncertain. That’s the republican version of playing hardball with the democrats. Cave on taxes in exchange for a promise from the biggest liar to ever roam the planet.
It’s like watching Charlie Brown and Lucy with the football over and over again. Charlie’s been falling for this for decades, too.
Meanwhile, Obama takes a three week vacation in Hawaii getting a little time off from his heavy post election campaign schedule before he goes back to his rallies to assure us that the tax hikes will only affect the “wealthy”. Be prepared to be amazed at just how elastic the term “wealthy” can be when Obama is deciding what it is from one day to the next.
Everyone will be affected as the price of everything goes up, including food & gasoline. Higher taxes on businesses means more layoffs and higher prices. If you happen to have a job (congratulations, by the way), your pay check will probably be smaller.
And republicans will proudly be pointing to Obama’s pretend concessions, which even if they were going to happen, would add up to about $11.00. This is what happens when we keep electing leaders with no capacity to lead.
