When it comes to assault weapons, the one most often deployed by the mainstream media is its voluminous mouth.
Revved up by Sandy Hook, and aiding and abetting a control-seeking government, the MSM has been shooting off its big mouth from all quarters.
Everyone, from British circuit anti-gun preacher Piers Morgan to NBC’s gun control ‘news’ spokesperson Bob Costas, is in on the act.
Holier-than-thou Libs have climbed to the top of a money-driven fiscal cliff where they hypocritically rain down recriminations on the great unwashed below. Registered gun owners get their names and addresses outed by a New York tabloid while the same news outlets who condemn them, sing “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition” with gun makers and exhibitors at the world’s largest trade show.
Prime anti-gun news outlets like NBC, leading the anti-gun posse with Sheriff Costas at the head of the thundering horse brigade, is a primary sponsor of the SHOT show, the largest gun show of its kind in the world getting underway in Las Vegas next week.
Now celebrating its 34th year, the National Shooting Sports Foundation Inc.‘s (NSSF’s) SHOT (The Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade Show) is touted as the “world’s” premier exposition of combined firearms.
Not only is NBC raking in millions on the sale of guns from an annual event attended by upwards of 60,000 patrons, the NSFF is headquartered in no less that Newtown, Connecticut, where a gunman killed 20 children and six adults in an elementary school with a semiautomatic rifle on Dec. 14.
How’s that for cautionary tales in contemporary Double Barrel Doublespeak?
“NBC Sports Network, formerly called Versus, has been a sponsor of the show for “several years”. (Bloomberg, Jan. 11, 2013.) “The cable channel airs hunting and fishing shows and participates as a sponsor “as part of our commitment to our outdoor-programming block,” said channel spokesman Greg Hughes to Bloomberg in a telephone interview.
Exhibiters during the 3-day SHOT show include government departments like the U.S. Department of Commerce (US Census Bureau),( Booth L334); and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (Booth L333).
Sponsors include the Outdoor Channel, the Chrysler Group LLC’s Ram and ArmalLite Inc., among many others.
Gun makers consorting with the enemy working to drive them out of existence on the same exhibition floor.
NSSF’s SHOT Show last year billed itself as “more than about selling and buying; it’s a powerful display of industry unity and its resolve to meet any challenge affecting the right to make, sell and own firearms.”
Meet Mr. Obama, NSSF.
NSSF is a member of the White House panel that’s discussing gun regulations.
Perhaps SHOT should be renamed as “Sleeping with the Enemy”.
