If Iran does take steps in the future to annihilate Israel, the leftist Jews who are criticizing Huckabee will never see it coming. And that, Mr. Obama is “sad.”

Geraldo Rivera explains the position of liberal Jews toward Iran

As much as can be generalized, Jews have traditionally been liberal. This can be explained by the fact that Jews have been persecuted throughout history and they tend to identify with people and groups that are or appear to be marginalized. With the rise of the new anti-Semitism on the left under the guise of being anti-Israel but holding Israel to a different standard than other countries with serious human rights abuses, it is hard to understand how liberal Jews can still support the left. This has become more apparent with the agreement reached with the United States and Iran that pretty well assures the Persian nation will acquire nuclear weapons. Iran does not hesitate in expressing the opinion that Israel should be wiped off the map.
Former Arkansas governor and current Republican candidate for president, Mike Huckabee, appeared on Fox’s The Five where he was questioned about remarks he previously made saying the deal with Iran will lead to another holocaust. These remarks have been criticized by Jews on the left and Geraldo Rivera made it abundantly clear why these leftist Jews are angry about the candidate’s remarks in daring to say the Iran deal might lead to another holocaust. On July 25, while speaking to Breitbart News, Huckabee said of the Iran deal:
“This president’s foreign policy is the most feckless in American history. He’s so naïve that he would trust the Iranians and he will take the Israelis and basically march them to the door to the oven.”
After gushing, not simply stating but gushing, about how much he loves Huckabee, Rivera chastised his love interest for daring to compare Iran’s intentions to the Holocaust. Said the left wing pundit--whose presence on The Five resulted in a petition to Fox to bring back Bob Beckel--you can never ever compare the Holocaust “to anything” except perhaps to the slaughter of Armenians. He said his Jewish family and his Hispanic family agree with him. There is no doubt many Jews such as the Anti-Defamation League agree with him.

Rivera strangely added you cannot compare the Holocaust to such things as school shootings as if the former governor was comparing the Holocaust or Iran’s expressed intentions to a mass killing at a school. If anyone was minimizing the Holocaust, it was Rivera who compared it to a school shooting. Huckabee countered that the remarks about wiping Israel off the map and the killing of Jews were not made by a blogger but by a government. And when a government makes threats like that, you have to take it seriously. Huckabee also condemned Obama for making a deal without conditions that Iran recognize Israel’s right to exist and getting them to cease their “Death to America” chants. Rivera illustrated why many Jews are unconcerned with Iranian threats to both Israel and the Jews; they do not believe something like the Holocaust can ever happen again. The term “Never again” is simply a statement of fact. No matter what happens it will never happen again. Rivera and his ilk say what the Iranians say is simply rhetoric. It may very well be but when Hitler was sitting in a jail cell writing Mein Kampf, it was only rhetoric. When Obama commented on Huckabee’s initial remarks to Breitbart, he called them “ridiculous if it weren’t so sad.” Not using a teleprompter, Obama hummed and hawed and stuttered to get those words out. He did not directly counter Huckabee’s argument that Iran poses a threat to Israel and the Jews. He then went on to say Huckabee probably only made the remarks to take attention away from Donald Trump. Threats are made all the time and many of them are never acted upon. But this is no reason not to take them seriously especially when they are made by a government that will eventually obtain nuclear weapons. The world has been criticized for standing idly by and not acting when the Nazis began their mass slaughter. There is no doubt, should Iran act on its threats, the world will do nothing. It is obvious those on the left who are in positions of power are totally indifferent to the slaughter now taking place against Christians in the world; they won’t react any differently to the mass killings of Jews. If Iran does take steps in the future to annihilate Israel, the leftist Jews who are criticizing Huckabee will never see it coming. And that, Mr. Obama, is “sad.”
