Three questions determine whether that's true.

About Obama's assertion that the climate change conference will sure show ISIS

As we all know by now, President Obama is not too inclined to show ISIS what's what by making the United States the leader of the military effort against them. Obama's not interested in "American leadership" or "America winning" if you'll remember. But no matter! Obama has reassured us all that America and its allies are really showing ISIS by having a conference on climate change in Paris one week after the attacks there. His quote was: "What a powerful rebuke to the terrorists it will be when the world stands as one and shows that we will not be deterred from building a better future for our children."
I guess this makes sense for a guy who thinks climate change is causing terrorism, but does it make any sense to the rest of us? We talked about this on the radio the other day, and it really comes down to three questions. You might actually agree with Obama if you agree with the following three propositions:
  1. Climate change is a crisis.
  2. The terrorists care about climate change.
  3. Climate change is the root cause of their evil ideology.
Do you agree with all three? Some of them? Any of them?

I don't, and probably you don't either. The climate change conference represents a bunch of western leaders wasting their time and pushing policies that will hamper economic growth for the sake of the left-wing agenda that seeks higher taxes and more controls on industry. Global warming is just the excuse. ISIS would be fools not to want this conference going on. If Obama's climate agenda is enacted it will weaken every nation that could and should be bombing ISIS back to the stoneage. I suppose one could argue that Obama's proclamation is not so much about climate change as about the fact that an event in Paris involving world leaders was held so soon after the attacks - regardless of why they met. According to this argument, the mere fact that they had a conference shows ISIS they weren't intimidated. The problem with that argument is that it's contrary to Obama's own words, which suggested that ISIS wanted the conference halted because they didn't want western leaders "building a better future for our children" by pushing the climate agenda. That's nonsense. ISIS doesn't want to prevent a better future for our children by keeping global warming going. They want to prevent a better future for our children by cutting their heads off, burning them alive and gunning them down in concert halls. And Obama thinks stopping them means going off to Paris and yammering on about carbon emissions. We have a lot of praying to do in the next 14 months, especially for the wisdom to take electing a president a lot more seriously than some people did the last two times.
