White Christmas" is an Irving Berlin song reminiscing about an old-fashioned Christmas setting. According to the Guinness World Records, the version sung by Bing Crosby is the best-selling single of all time, with estimated sales in excess of 100 million copies worldwide. Other versions of the song, along with Bing Crosby's, have sold over 150 million copies. Accounts vary as to when and where Berlin wrote the song. One story is that he wrote it in 1940, in warm La Quinta, California, while staying at the La Quinta Hotel, a frequent Hollywood retreat also favored by writer-director-producer Frank Capra, although the Arizona Biltmore also claims the song was written there. He often stayed up all night writing — he told his secretary, "Grab your pen and take down this song. I just wrote the best song I've ever written — heck, I just wrote the best song that anybody's ever written!"For decades, ‘White Christmas’ was understood, by reasoned people, to be a longing for snow during the most wonderful time of the year. Unfortunately the spread of PC nonsense and progressive insanity over the years has led some liberals to be in bitter opposition to the entire Christmas narrative; even leading some particularly delusional folks to conclude that the song has nothing whatsoever to do with snow, but is instead a racist longing by Caucasian Christian bigots to exclude people of color from the joy of the season. The big question: Is ‘White Christmas’ about snow or is it really about the recently-minted myth called ‘White privilege’

John W. Lillpop is a recovering liberal. “Clean and sober” since 1992 when last he voted for a Democrat. For years, John lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, the very liberal sanctuary city which protects, rather than prosecutes, certain favored criminals. John escaped the Bay Area in May and now lives in Pine Grove California where conservative values are still in vogue.
