In what would be an absolute disaster for the Democratic Party leading up to the November presidential election, it looks like there may be some truth to the behind the scenes scuttlebutt that current Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice may just be open to a feeler sent out by the McCain camp to have her join his ticket as the Republican vice presidential nominee.
Rice, who officially denied being interested in the offer is rumored to be cozying up the the staunch conservative wing of the party feeling out just how much support they will give her if she takes a run at the vice presidency.
Polls show that the McCain-Rice ticket would trounce even Clinton-Obama or visa versa in many states like New York that have a long history of being Democrat strongholds. I personally think that she would be a great choice not only in opening the gender or color door but because has incredible experience and toughness lacking in both Clinton and Obama.
Speaking of the next president John McCain, I have to tell you the truth, he is the only one of the current lot that I would feel honored in sitting down and having a drink with (that doesn't include Chelsea Clinton but that's a different story).
Coming from a military family, there is no one I respect more than a veteran who has served his nation nobly and courageously. Not only does McCain believe that the war is winnable (which it is) but knows that a military presence in the region is necessary and a pull out would be disastrous not only for American pride and prestige, but would create an absolute hell even worse than the current ones in both Iraq and Afghanistan. As for both Obama and Hillary and their promises of a quick withdrawal of forces and their promises of opening official talks with our enemies, I have a visual picture of them holding hands around a campfire with Joan Baez and Jane Fonda singing Kumbaya while Muslim fanatics draw up plans not only to destroy but to annihilate the very fabric of our society. The enemies of the west must just be frothing at the mouth praying to their god for one of these Democratic defeatists to get elected in November.
Tibet, Chinese human rights violations
I really do have to admit I'm really torn with the situation that has developed between China and world opinion that the Chinese human rights violations against the Buddhist nation of Tibet. What has now happened is at the world’s anger at an intensity that people are protesting the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. As disgusting as the Chinese actions are, I'm also saddened to see that it will be the thousands of innocent athletes from all countries that will be hurt by these protests and potential boycotts. This is an important issue that has to be dealt with by negotiation and not by interfering with the Games.
Gangsta Rap a white society creation...yo baby!
In what seems to be either an incredibly racist or possibly just a brain numbing statement from another Hollywood dunderhead, it seems that Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys has made public statements in Blender magazine that the Gangsta Rap music that has become so popular in the past decade and a half was actually an invention of white society to destroy the black race in America.
In her opinion the white powers did this so black people would kill themselves off and no great black leader would appear. Let's get this straight, white society invented a so called music form, made a bunch of no talent stiffs incredibly rich just so we could erase not only a race but a culture from modern society.
Unfortunately, she couldn't seem to remember the actual history of the controversial music form. This chick makes Forrest Gump sound like Steven Hawking in comparison.
What actually is more disturbing is that Ms. Keys has made it public in the same interview that she wears an AK-47 pendant around her neck, a symbol which supposedly means among many things strength and quote on quote "killing them dead". What I would like to know is "Killing who dead". The same symbol was made famous by the New Black Panther Party, a black political organization which has been reported as a racist and anti-Semitic group by such well respected organizations as the B'nai B'rith, which was involved with blocking a Toronto visit by Panther’s chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz last year arguing successfully that he and his organization spread hate information.
By the way for any of you who care, this same controversial organization whole heartedly officially supports and endorses current Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama. With Louis Farrakhan and Jeremiah Wright already firmly on board, the Obama camp can now boast support from the big three well known African American racially controversial entities in the country. For anyone who doubts his approval for the New Black Panthers support, look at Obama's own web page before his people quickly removed their endorsement from the candidate’s page.
Jimmy Carter and Hamas
It looks like the former 34th President and patron saint to knuckle heads, Jimmy Carter is visiting Syria in the next few days to begin talks with Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal. Now the only problem that I see with this little get together by these two is the small fact that Hamas is considered not only by the US but by much of the world as a terrorist organization that refuses to recognize our staunch ally Israel's right to exist. Now you can blame this thought on sentimentality but am I the only one who misses the common sense and political savvy of the smarter, more popular Carter brother, Billy?
