Chris Rocker, Nickleback, Auto Switch

A switch in time

Words of praise adorn the wall of Auto Switch's myspace page. And why wouldn't it? Their music is a more pop-ier/ less intense sounding version of fellow Canadian band Nickleback.

Their new single "Thanx" which dropped earlier this summer, is a smooth ballad that shows the emotional side of a band whose lead singer and guitarist spawned from bands such as Village Idiot (which came known to be as Nickleback). Although Chris Rocker, ex-Nicklebacker and current Auto Switch front man realizes the mistake of leaving such a popular band, his excitement for Auto Switch outweighs it: "Leaving those guys isn't the dumbest thing I've ever done, but it's right up there," he laughs. "I am very excited about Auto Switch. We have all the right pieces in place--the chemistry, the music, the songs, and the attitude. I've seen what a combination of these things can do and feel the electric energy coming from this band" Currently touring Canada, the debut of their album is intended for this fall. Their upcoming show at the Big Bop Katherdral room in Toronto is sure to be a rocking experience. So be prepared for some Canadian talent that performs fun, upbeat, rock, while showing what Canadian boys can do. Tickets are $10 at Big Bop or Rotate This, and $13 at the door.
