Brady Shoff appears to have a future as a police officer or counterterrorism agent, although he probably needs to learn to talk first. The two-year-old Utah boy has a twin brother named Brock, and their parents run surveillance video in the boys' room. The night the dresser fell over, they didn't hear it at first. When they checked on the boys later, they found the dresser on the floor but observed that the boys appeared to be fine and acting normal. It was only after they later reviewed this video that they realized what had happened:
I don't want to turn this into an invitation for commenters to bash the parents for being unattentive of whatever. If you've ever had kids, you know that you do not and cannot be in the same room with them 100 percent of the time. It looks like some sort of errant phone or power cord might have caused the dresser to tip over, but it also could have been Brock Shoff playing around. He's 2. He couldn't have known any better. Black Lives Matter leader hit with restraining order after threatening LA police official What I find really impressive, though, is the presence of mind Brady shows as he walks into the room and finds his brother. He clearly has a sense of urgency to help his brother, but he also calmly assesses the situation - eying the dresser from one side and then from another, trying to get a sense of how he might best address the situation. The attempt to lift it is a no-go, but do you notice how Brady tries to lift with his knees and not with his back? Just what you're supposed to do. And he's 2.

If you watch carefully, you'll see that as Brady is pushing the dresser off Brock, the drawers are loose at the bottom and they're coming out. That can't be an easy push job, and it's a 2-year-old doing it all by himself. Extraordinary. I list this one in faith because the dad indicates he doesn't think Brady was alone in that room moving the dresser. You see the video. You can decide for yourself. I believe God puts in us the things we need to live out His anointing on our lives, and He'll activate our gifts when the use of them is most important - if we're willing. Obviously Brady cares about his brother and he was willing to do whatever it took to rescue him. His size didn't provide him with much power, but God provided him with all he needed. Nice work, young man. UPDATE: I found the longer video that shows how the dresser tipped over in the first place - from both boys trying to climb to the top via open drawers. Hoo boy. That's an obvious no-no to anyone over 5 probably, and for these two a difficult lesson about how leverage works. I'm glad Brady didn't do more damage by climbing on top of the dresser as his first lamentable attempt to help. Even so, everything ended up OK.
