On Oct. 29, 2008 Newsmax.com posted an internet article titled, “Arabs: Obama ‘One of Us’” in which an Iranian born columnist for the New York Post, Amir Taheri, was featured and who observed that while Obama has “pushed his origins into the background, his ‘Islamic roots’ have won him a place in many Arab’s hearts.”
Obama has Arabic-Islamic first and middle names Taheri reports, explaining Barack means “blessed” and Hussein means “beautiful” and his last name is Swahili, an African language based on Arabic. He also says that Obama’s sister and his daughter have Arabic based names and that both his father and stepfather were both Muslims.
Newsmax states that when Obama lived in Indonesia he was registered at two schools as a Muslim student, receiving Islamic religious instruction and studying the Koran. This was during the four years of residence there with his mother and stepfather.
The blank and unknown religious ties period really begins when he left that country and continues until he was in his late 20’s; and he refuses to acknowledge any of his religious ties or training up until that older age when he says he “converted” to Christianity after meeting the infamous Rev. Jeremiah Wright. No one has, but he should be asked: ‘Converted FROM what?’
But, even though he claims he “converted” to Christianity twenty some years ago, to this day he has a strong affinity and friendship with and is strongly supported by American Muslims, not the least of which is the top ‘whatever’ of the Nation of Islam movement, Louis Farrakhan, a violently vocal and abusive professor of anti-Americanism and all this country stands for. Why would a Christian, even a “converted” one, be so attached to such a philosophy that is designed to denigrate everything that Obama claims he wants for the American people? “Obama for Change” I’m still wondering what that really meant.
Is he planning to “convert” all of us infidels after he takes the oath of office for president? Will he enlist the help of his two favorite mentor/ministers, Farrakhan and Wright to make sure that at least Wright’s wish to “GOD DAMN AMERICA” comes true?
Obama has never really explained or even hinted as what this big “CHANGE” is that he wanted to bring to us. What if he delivers something that may change the way we live the rest of our lives; if in fact, we get a chance to live!
The Iranian Taheri tells us about the praise and support Obama gets from the Islamic Arab world such as in Syria where an adviser to Pres. Bahar al-Assad writes, “The change (there’s it is again) that Obama suggests is essential not only for the U.S. but for all humans.”
Again, what IS this change? And why is it good for us and ALL humans?
Qaddafi of Libya calls Obama a Muslim and says that all the people in the Arab and Muslim world applaud and welcome him and pray for his success.
Does that ‘success’ go beyond winning the election, and how?
Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef said: “We like Mr. Obama and we hope that he will win the election.”
Sounds innocent enough but Hamas never has good tidings for Americans.
Pro-Hezbollah columnist Amal Saad-Ghorayeb said there is “no doubt Arabs should welcome an Obama presidency.”
He’s right; there is NO doubt they would be overjoyed.
Saudi Arabian commentator Hussein Shobokshi wrote that an Obama presidency “would mark an important moral transformation in the superpower and is a healthy indicator of the long-awaited improvement in the international arena.”
He should have been asked about that “moral transformation”… it bothers me not knowing what he is thinking.
Taheri notes Obama has close ties with Columbia University Professor Rashid Khalidi a Palestinian radical formerly with the PLO, an anti-Israel and America organization. And I won’t even mention his close, very close association with American murder-minded terrorist, now a non-repentant Chicago professor, William Ayers.
Taheri concludes his report on Obama’s relationship with the Islamic/Muslim/Arab world by saying that Obama is the preferred candidate in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
With friends and support like that, Obama should be running for Grand Poobah of the Middle East instead of the United States. But did you notice, Iran was not included among that group of supporters?
It boggles the mind to realize how many good and true American citizens believe this snake-oil salesman with the slick-slippery tongue and even they don’t know what change Obama will bring to this trusting and gullible country. I asked one young supporter what the change was that Obama was promising and he said, “I don’t know. Just a change in government, I guess.”
From the look of his selections for cabinet positions, I don’t see any change in government, just more of the same Bubba Clinton “You can fool most of the people most of the time” style.
Gerald A. “Jerry” McConnell, 92, of Hampton, died Sunday, February 19, 2017, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, Mass., surrounded by his loved ones. He was born May 27, 1924 in Altoona, Pa., the fifth son of the late John E. and Grace (Fletcher) McConnell.
Jerry served ten years with the US Marine Corps and participated in the landing against Japanese Army on Guadalcanal and another ten years with the US Air Force. After moving to Hampton in 1957 he started his community activities serving in many capacities.
He shared 72 years of marriage with his wife Betty P. (Hamilton) McConnell. In addition to his wife, family members include nieces and nephews.
