Sheik Eid Abdel Hamid Youssef's manic ranting puts the Arab mindset regarding Jews in a nutshell.

Widespread murders in the name of honor and suicide bombings in the name of anything are incomprehensible to the western mind. Rudyard Kipling saw this cultural chasm when he wrote: "Oh, East is East and West is West, and never the twain shall meet." I know that it's politically incorrect to say this, but the twain aren't going to be meeting any time soon because Islam and democracy are mutually exclusive. Muslims are incapable of adopting democracy because they have been stuck in neutral on the ladder of progress for hundreds of years while the democracies have advanced, and that's their tragedy. On the other hand, the liberal democracies are nowhere nearly as advanced as they think they are, and that's our tragedy. William Bedford Toronto, Ontario
