We’ve come a long way since Joe Wilson called public attention to public officials’ massive and recurring lies

Anniversary of Lies

One year ago, on 9/9/09, we heard a prominent individual finally speak plainly, with a national audience able to witness it live. Representative Joe Wilson (R, SC) proudly and disgustedly uttered “You Lie!” when he could take no more of patent falsehoods being spewed as policy and agenda.

Then, like Joe The Plumber a year before, Joe the People’s Representative was roundly castigated for simply asserting the truth. Democrats, and other liberals too, roundly howled about how decorum was so essential in the supposedly hallowed halls of the U.S. Congress. It was a twilight zone week, as if Democrats and other liberals had never interrupted any conservative’s speech. And then the wimpy, weak-kneed Republican leadership joined in. The Republican response was typical RINO behavior, inexplicably afraid of getting any bad press from the USA’s overtly partisan liberal media. It was a piling-on, a session akin to loosing all the jackals of hell. And Joe Wilson found he had to apologize. It was the same playbook used by Stalin and Mao and Ho Chi Minh: turn up the torture or other pressures to have the accused admit and confess, to give legitimacy to the accusations – truth be damned. But regardless whether it’s been right or wrong, it’s true that liberals have had a way of hypocritically forcing conservatives into apologizing for behavior that liberals themselves are guilty of in spades, though media hype would never let anybody remember it. Indeed, liberals have sometimes even forced their opposition to apologize for the nerve of simply daring to be politically conservative. Then, as the concluding moral of “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence” reveals: “When the lie becomes the truth, print the lie.” But Joe Wilson’s “You Lie!” has resonated. Ordinary Americans agree. Tea Parties surged. Conservatives have organized beyond the beginnings in the Free Republic crowd of a decade ago. Even ordinary polling shows Americans are fed up with lies upon lies. Why? How? It’s actually very simple, though liberals would never fully understand it; ‘relative morality’ doesn’t see a big deal with telling lies, when the lies advance the liberal agenda. Yet, in objective reality, where most Americans live, lies succeed only so long before they mutually contradict enough that any person with half a memory will finally see through the facade. Then, the liberals’ Potemkin Village is finally seen not as the pretense of a real village, but as the cheating, deceptive, patronizing, and embezzling false fronts that the supposed real constructions always were. Democrats, like young children, have finally been found out, and caught up in their own lies. One more thing remains to be said, beyond the ringing “You Lie!” … as stated in “Liars Lie” article (13 April 2009): “It is not the person who calls a lie a lie, who is the dissonant troublemaker. Rather, it is the liar who causes the troubling ‘politics of hate’. We have forgotten this.” [emphasis added] Indeed, it is the true public servant who uncovers the lies and punishes the liars, no matter how much discord inevitably accompanies the righting of a wrong. Indeed, blame is properly placed on the scoundrel who originates & propagates the lies; the liar is the real practitioner of ‘politics of hate’. How far we Americans have fallen from merchants, yeoman farmers, and plantation owners, who all pledged their lives and fortunes for the chance to work as free men under a severely limited government – and many of them lost precisely all that they pledged. But now Americans see this true difference of then to now, from vibrant self-reliance of 1810 to bankrupt welfare state of 2010, and are fighting mad about it! For a decade, starting with those ‘Freepers’ in 2000, conservatives have been learning how to organize. And that organization is proving critical in getting out the side of the story that liberals have long sought to keep under wraps. We note how liberals have been quite quick to figure out how they ‘feel’ about it; how liberals’ work, to slander and to generate intense politics of hatred, have spiraled to amazing heights. Perhaps that’s a key: liberals ‘feel’ while conservatives ‘think’. Perhaps that key, with the ‘thinking’ camp finally organized and the ‘feelings’ camp finally shrill, is why truth is finally coming out.

Finally, in 2010, it seems a bunch of Liars are due to be booted out of Washington D.C.

Finally, in 2010, it seems a bunch of Liars are due to be booted out of Washington D.C. – we can hope for a rout, but at least a great many of the liars will get Pink Slips. Perhaps other Liars can suffer in Recall Elections or removal by Impeachment before their terms expire, for malfeasance in office and for recklessly endangering the very survival of the USA. Why? One can fix a problem only when honestly sizing it up. Right now, economic and moral problems are perilously close to imploding the USA and exposing the USA (and its remaining allies) to unparalleled dangers. These days, only conservatives are willing to honestly face the reality of runaway government spending on programs that severely hurt – in so many ways … Liars have worked to bankrupt our country. Liars have diverted national energy from defense (fighting jihad and invasion) and space exploration (that would invigorate sciences, mathematics, engineering, and a general adventurous spirit) to downward-spiraling wealth redistribution schemes that suck incentive from workers & financiers, while motivating long-term dependency among people who should be short-term poor. Liars have been inverting and perverting time-tested moral & legal codes. Liars have been placating Americans with an unimaginably broad spectrum of lies (instigating class envy, false fears of environmental Armageddon, judgmental imposition of politically correct ‘tolerance’). Liars have brazenly, overtly, been buying of a voting class with unsustainable but wonderful-feeling promises of ‘free money’ and even amnesty. Can a litany of this nature be seen as anything other than High Crimes against fellow citizens? Perhaps the citizens who replace the Liars will struggle much harder to remain with truth. They will need to be true conservatives – men & women who admit the truth that there’s a difference between right and wrong. Conservatives need to replace both the liberals (the partisan ideologues) and the RINOs (the wimped-out useful idiots). With a conservative majority, we will have a chance of honestly facing some severe troubles and finding an opportunity for ‘change we can truly believe, because it’s true’. It seems there’s no more chance for easy fixes. But we can hope that, with honest conservatives, there’s still a chance to work our way back. We did it before, climbing back out of a really deep hole, when all seemed lost in the several months from Pearl Harbor and the U-Boat’s Happy Time, until Midway and Operation Torch showed there was still a glimmer of hope. This current mess, too, can be surmounted, if we honestly face it.

We’ve come a long way since Joe Wilson called public attention to public officials’ massive and recurring lies

We’ve come a long way since Joe Wilson called public attention to public officials’ massive and recurring lies. Though liberals and RINOs did their best to paint Joe in a bad light, it seems Americans saw the truth despite the smears. And, Americans saw Joe was right; the fight over nationalized health care made sure Americans are now fully awake to liberals’ recurrent lies, and to RINO’s habitual pathetic pandering for liberals’ love. Polls show Americans are now so well in tune, that we have a real good chance to “Remember In November” and “Vote For The Right Turn”. And decades of history show that’s no lie.
