'Takes a lot of work to lose to Donald Trump'

Axlerod: Hillary was never fully 'willing to take responsibility for her mistakes' in 2016 campaign

Earlier, Dan shared the video of Hillary Clinton accepting "complete responsibility" for her embarrassing 2016 loss. Then, as Hillary always does, she turned around and blamed everyone and everything else. Her version of taking responsibility means paying lip service to her failures, before dredging up scapegoats like FBI Director James Comey, Wikileaks, Russia, misogyny, and fake news. Even as she does a perfunctory mea culpa, she's playing the victim card. She just can't help herself.
I've written about why Hillary's loss is Hilary's fault more times than I care to remember. So has Dan. But maybe you're a Democrat. Maybe you're a leftist, statist, socialist who doesn't want to listen to a pair of "wingnuts." Maybe you only believe the gospel according to former members of the Obama administration. If that's the case, well, this one's for you. According to David Axlerod, Hillary's Comey claims may have some merit, but the bottom line is that she ran a tone deaf, poorly strategized, poorly implemented, and ultimately awful campaign.
"Jim Comey didn't tell her not to campaign in Wisconsin after the convention. Jim Comey didn't say, ‘Don't put any resources into Michigan until the final week of the campaign. And one of the things that hindered her in the campaign was a sense that she never fully was willing to take responsibility for her mistakes, particularly that server. ...She said the words ‘I'm responsible,' but everything else suggested that she really doesn't feel that way and I don't think that helps her in the long run."

Attempts to dodge responsibility just make her look worse

If it sounds like Axelrod is fed up with the Clinton blame game, that's because you have ears and understand the Enlish language. Attempts to dodge responsibility just make her look worse.
"I think she would have been well served to stop before she got to 'the reason I lost.' It takes a lot of work to lose to Donald Trump, let me tell you. He was the least popular presidential candidate to win in the history of polling. And so it wasn't just the Comey letter. The fact that she was in a position to lose because of the Comey letter is something that deserves some introspection."
In other words, Hillary Clinton spent 30 years making her bed and now she's furious that she has to lie in it.
