Back To The Corrupt Future

Back in the day when the three networks ruled the airways, people escaped the rigors of everyday life and gathered with their family to enjoy watching a television program. And although everyone knew that in real life, justice doesn’t always prevail, for those few hours at least, families could be confident that before the credits rolled across their television sets, somehow good triumphed over evil. Imagine how those families would have reacted if one of the three networks created a program series based on the future scandals of the Obama Administration. It would be a kind of “Back to the Corrupt Future” political series. Episodes would cover national disgraces such as Benghazi, the IRS, and The Clinton Server scandal to name only a few. For sure, there would be a mountain of illicit material to work with; a virtual treasure trove of illegal and unconstitutional activity.
Consider a possible episode based on 'Fast and Furious’, where as part of a little-known ATF program, agents would begin handing out thousands of guns to drug cartel members without having any method to track them. Following would be scenes with hundreds of innocent Mexican citizens being murdered by these untraceable weapons, including the United States Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and ICE officer Jamie Zapata. And before Congress was able to initiate an investigation, President Obama playing himself would make false public statements that the 'Fast and Furious' program was started under the Bush Administration, even though he was acutely aware that the actual program started under Bush was code named 'Operation Wide Receiver’. Although the two programs were completely different with Bush incorporating tracking methods on the weapons before he ended it in 2007, President Obama insisted that the program having a different name, started in 2009 well after he became President, had no planned goal, and the killing of innocent people was the work of President George W. Bush. Following episodes would let those families see Congress hold hearings and for the first time in US history, hold an Attorney General, played by Eric Holder, in contempt of Congress for not turning over necessary documentation. The President would then step in and invoke Executive Privilege to stop Congress from seeing the documents. And the final scene had the Congressional hearings end with no results.

Other episodes would include the IRS scandal where US citizens would be denied tax exempt status because they held conservative values. And before any investigation began, the President, again played by Obama, would inexplicably and prematurely assure the American people that there “wasn’t a smidgen of corruption.” IRS Director of Exempt Organizations, Lois Lerner would plead the 5th regarding her activities working for the IRS and would be held in contempt of Congress. The episode would climax in a scene with IRS Commissioner John Koskinen informing members of Congress that the IRS wiped clean the hard drives of IRS employees dealing with the scandal’s requested information. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee would also find out that the IRS destroyed 422 backup tapes despite a preservation order and subpoena. The final scene would have the long IRS Congressional hearings end with no results. It would be fairly accurate to suggest that families would be shocked if they learned that the episodes were of actual events. There is no doubt that viewers would want to find out how such contemptuous deceit could have existed which all the more exposes the complicity and wholesale corruption of today’s media. Since in the past, there was such a thing as the rule of law, naturally these families would criticize the plots as being unrealistic or far-fetched, but then again we must remember that they would never experience anything like the lawlessness of the Obama Administration for many years to come.

Rick Hayes -- Bio and Archives

Rick Hayes lives in the epicenter of liberal land where reality and truth will never encounter a welcome mat.

An award-winning writer and photographer, with over twenty years of professional experience in both fields, Hayes started his journalism adventure after a successful, eye-opening career as a Banker in Wall Street.  Although he spent his early work life surrounded by custom made shirts, expensive ties and the shiniest of shoes, Hayes was an accomplished singer, cutting a few records with a local band and appearing on one of the first cable shows.

Working for a weekly New York paper, in one of the most politically corrupt areas in the State, he began investing his time trying to understand the nature of corruption.
