The Liberals are jamming us with their 'Carbon Tax Fiasco' fraud and the further left wing NDP (New Democratic Party) are promoting the 'Cap and Trade' falacy. The Irony - First of all, if CO2 is so bad, why do Greenhouses add it, 4-5 times ambient to make the vegetation grow twice as fast? Even this is an infinitesimal minute amount and is a completely harmless increase as the greenhouse workers don't suffer any ill effects from working in it all day long for a lifetime. We are feeding 5 billion more people on earth than we were 100 years ago. You would think we could use as much atmospheric CO2 as possible to green the planet, as nothing will grow without it. The 'BC Greenhouse Growers Association' web site excerpts state -

"Greenhouse Environment - When you step inside a greenhouse, you'll feel like you've stepped into a perfect tropical oasis managed by science and technology. Carbon Dioxide is one of the major items plants need for photosynthesis and growth. It allows for stronger cell development, increased fruit set – the stage where the plant's flowers are fertilized - and fruit production. Our growers deliver carbon dioxide through tubes made of thin plastic film that run at the plants' bases. Growers adjust carbon dioxide levels so that it seeps out gently during the day giving the vegetable plants a bath in carbon dioxide".

THE LIBERALS- (Gordon Campbell, our Premier in bed with the Greens), proof that they can't manage our money and don't understand the issue. BC is the only consumer 'Carbon Tax' jurisdiction in North America. With their hands in our pockets, ever increasing Carbon taxes every time we fuel up our vehicles and heat our homes, then what do they do with our so called 'carbon-neutral' tax money? First they try to bribe/deceive us by giving some of it back to us 'shell game' of (mailing cheques at great expense) bureaucratic waste, then they have to find a way to pretend they are doing good by finding some 'green' businesses to give the rest to, which they call 'emission-offsets'. So the Libs set up a public taxpayer owned BC Gov't Crown Corporation, 'Pacific Carbon Trust' with $24 million in start up money, who then contracts with their selective green friends of a private Company run by ex UBC prof. 'Offsetters Clean Technology Ltd'. (carbon offset traders, like a 'bookie'), real transparent like for a secret $ amount of our taxdollars, (that can't be revealed for 'competitive reasons') based on so much per tonne of emmissions. Then they siphon some millions off to four of their favourite friends in the Greenhouse Business so they can make some capital cost upgrades. Why are we taxpayers subsidizing selective private greenhouse businesses to make improvements, who get an unfair competitive advantage over un-subsidized ones? If those improvements are beneficial to their business, the Greenhouses would eventually make them anyway at their own expense. The money goes around and around, la tee da everybody takes their cut and the loser is us sucker taxpayers and consumers of goods. Hard to believe that this dumb policy is not as bad as the NDP's, who would not pretend for it to be 'carbon neutral' and would not try to bribe/deceive us with payback cheques. THE NDP- (Carol James, wannabe Premier in bed with the Greens) promoting the 'Cap and Trade' shell game falacy- proof that they don't understand the issue. 'Cap and Trade', a process whereby a large polluting corporation can buy 'offset' vouchers (through the carbon trader 'bookie', like Al Gore) from a lesser or non polluting corp., so the large polluter can pollute more, all sanctioned by our Governments . It has been compared to a 'Fat person buying food stamp ration vouchers from a skinny person so the fat person can get even more obese'. The money goes around and around, la tee da, Al Gore gets richer, everybody takes their cut..... Europe with their Kyoto Protocol has tried this 'Emissions Trading Scheme' for at least a decade and it has failed abysmally. Emissions were not reduced at all, while steep fuel taxes, ambitious solar, wind and other high cost renewable energy projects have become complete unaffordable failures and a big drag on their economy. Energy sources like 'solar' and 'wind' is not an 'alternate' energy at all, at best it is a 'supplemental' form because a 'primary base load' energy is first required to support and receive it. Czech president Vaclav Klaus states, "It's sheer fantasy to think that energy rationing measures have any economic benefit". In conclusion; Only people can pay taxes, fundamentally Corporations can not. They can only pass the costs on, or file for bankruptcy. Fairytales are still bringing in childrens booksale royalties, perhaps we should not be too doubtful of our ingenious leaders imaginations in their lust to lord over and live off our avails. Sometimes it feels like we are on a crazy train thats left the station with no-one in charge, but I have to remind myself not to presume malice when 'deception' is a more probable option.
