Business groups paying Hillary $200,000 per speech for some reason

Hey, if she can get them to pay it, far be it from me to argue that anyone should stop it from happening. Supply and demand, baby. It's the same reason I have no problem with ballplayers making more money than some guy working to cure cancer - because when private parties freely enter into an agreement, God bless them. And they are, as the Washington Post reports:
In the six months since stepping down as secretary of state, Clinton has addressed apartment-complex developers in Dallas, private-equity managers in Los Angeles and business executives in Grand Rapids, Mich. Still to come are travel agents, real estate brokers, clinical pathologists and car dealers — collecting more than $200,000 per appearance, according to one executive who arranges speaking tours. This is how Clinton is cashing in on her star power as she weighs whether to run for the White House. The would-be Democratic front-runner is barnstorming the country, delivering speeches and answering questions at events sponsored by industry groups eager to gain access to someone who may be the next president.

Clinton is the only leading 2016 contender giving paid speeches, with at least 14 delivered or scheduled so far, in part because ethics rules prohibit sitting lawmakers from doing so. Past presidential contenders, such as Republicans Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty, gave relatively few such addresses, and for much lower five-figure fees.
Now if you want to look at it in terms of sheer ROI, there's no question Hillary will bring out a crowd to your rubber chicken dinner, and if that's your whole objective then maybe she's worth the money. But this might be worth pointing out, just so it's on the record: Hillary Clinton is about the biggest fraud in the history of this country. It's funny, when you think about it, that her husband once derided the whole Obama phenomenon - correctly - as a fairy tale. Because if anyone's storyline is a bigger fairy tale than Obama's, it's Hillary's. To cut to the chase, the woman has never accomplished anything. Those who buy into the Hillary myth confuse lines on a resume with actual achievement. Yes, she became First Lady, because of her husband. Yes, she became a senator, because of her name recognition. Yes, she became a leading presidential candidate in 2008 for the same reason. Yes, she became Secretary of State because Obama couldn't afford to have her and her backers as enemies. For 20 years, she held those various titles. And for 20 years, she never did anything. Anything. Her one attempt at policy leadership, HillaryCare, was such a disaster her husband never put her in that position again. There is not a single noteworthy accomplishment anyone can name from her Senate career - not a single major bill she sponsored, not a single policy issue on which she exercised leadership to come up with and implement a solution. Her tenure as Secretary of State was classic Hillary. We're told how many hours she worked and how many miles she flew. Big whoop. What were her achievements? Nothing. Oh, the "reset button" with Russia? Like I said. Hillary's entire political career strikes me as little more than a personal crusade to be sure she doesn't live in Bill's shadow. Even from the time he first took office in 1993, she found it necessary to let us know she wasn't some cookie-baking, apron-wearing June Cleaver. No. She was a lawyer, and why, in fact, she could be president herself, in fact, she pretty much was the co-president already, so there. And to prove herself, she was going to fix health care, and she was going to become a senator. And it's been obvious ever since she first ran for the Senate that the only reason she was doing it was to position herself to run for president, which is why no one really expected much in terms of accomplishments from her Senate career because it was always understood - even admired by some - that the whole thing was just a high-profile exercise in posturing. She wants to become president because, for whatever reason, she seems to need to be president. If it's nothing more than wanting to be defined as something other than the longsuffering victim of Bill's peccadilloes, I wish she would find a way to do it that wouldn't subject the nation to the indignities of a Hillary presidency - since we've been through enough already. I've never seen a clearer case of a person chasing non-stop after nothing more than ego gratification, and having it go on and on for freaking decades. I get that every politician does this to some degree. I've never seen it taken this far with so little to justify it. But it's a testament, I guess, to the reality of star power for its own sake that groups will pay top dollar to have her come and speak. After all, talking is really all she has to offer. She never does anything, except promote herself. And no one even expects her to do anything but promote herself. If she can really ride this fraud all the way to the presidency, this nation is closer to extinction than I thought.
