Yesterday, Dan told you about Roy Moore's decisive Republican Primary victory in Alabama. I won't rehash that here, so read his piece if you'd like to know more. For now, suffice it to say that he'll probably become the state's next Senator in November, evangelical voters are ecstatic, and the left is losing what remains of its collective mind. They're in a tizzy, you see, because it seems that - hold onto your hats - Roy Moore believes that our rights come from God. Shocking, I know. In fact, it positively flummoxed Chuck Todd. Todd thought he had a real scoop when he announced that Moore "doesn't appear to believe in the Constitution" …because he thinks our rights come from our creator. Yes, really:
Where to begin? Obviously, what Moore said is almost verbatim from the "very fundamentalist" Declaration of Independence. "It appears" that Chuck Todd doesn't understand what the Founders meant by "endowed by their Creator," but Moore has it absolutely right. According to the founders, God granted us our rights. The Constitution simply protects them from the various politicians that Chuck Todd would, without question, like to see elected to higher office. Don't believe me? Let's hear from a Democrat idol. Here's a line from John F. Kennedy's inaugural address:
And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe--the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God. We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution.
This used to be common knowledge. Maybe Chuck missed it but, and this is a big but, I'd wager he knows it full well. Honestly, it's hard not to know it. The modern left simply ignores it because it doesn't jibe with their government-uber-alles worldview.

You must worship only one God, and that God is the state. Heck...even Obama knows it.
