CLEVELAND — The U.S. Coast Guard searches for two people who were last seen on an inflatable raft approximately 500 yards offshore of North Kingsville, Ohio, late Monday. The reporting source said that one individual on the raft jumped into the water and tried swimming the raft to shore; the reporting source lost sight of the reported people in distress shortly thereafter. Coast Guard Station Ashtabula launched a 25-foot response boat - small and Air Station Detroit launched an MH-65 helicopter to search for the people in distress. Coast Guard crews will continue to search through the night.

CLEVELAND — The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended the search, Tuesday, for two people who were reported to have been seen on an inflatable raft approximately 500 yards offshore of North Kingsville, Ohio, late Monday. The Coast Guard searched throughout the night with multiple assets covering a search area of over 120 miles and 15 hours of searching with negative results. There were no reports or signs of missing persons. The decision was made after a MH-65 helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Detroit completed its first light search at approximately 9:30 a.m. The case is suspended pending any future developments.
