Democratic Socialism: Not My America - Not on My Watch!

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter, So help me God."

In January of every odd-numbered year, those newly elected or re-elected Congressmen - the entire House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate - must recite the above quoted oath of office. To support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; is to at all times by all means, uphold, promote and preserve the founding principles outlined in the ratified founding documents, including the Constitution. To bear true faith and allegiance to the same; is at all times and by all means, to act in a manner which demonstrates true faith and allegiance to those principles. To do any less, is a clear violation of the oath of office and those who fail to well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office; must be removed from office and face the wrath of the God who created every American citizen as a free, equal, self-governed individual, and endowed them with certain specific unalienable right's to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness though personal achievement. Democratic Socialism? Is this what our founding documents guarantee every American? Is this the America the founding fathers envisioned or designed? Are these the principles America was founded or built upon and are they the ideas every member of congress is sworn to support and defend? Or are they the ideas of a foreign and domestic enemy, that every member of congress took an oath to defend the people against? Not My America! Taken directly from the Democratic Socialist of America web site
Democratic Socialists believe that both the economy and society should be run democratically--to meet public needs. Democratic Socialists do not want to create an all-powerful government bureaucracy. But we do not want big corporate bureaucracies to control our society either. Resources are used to make money for capitalists rather than to meet human needs. Social ownership could take many forms, such as worker-owned cooperatives or publicly owned enterprises managed by workers and consumer representatives. In the short term we can't eliminate private corporations, but we can bring them under greater democratic control. The government could use regulations and tax incentives to encourage companies to act in the public interest and outlaw destructive activities such as exporting jobs to low-wage countries and polluting our environment. Most of all, socialists look to unions to make private business more responsible. Although no country has fully instituted democratic socialism, the socialist parties and labor movements of other countries have won many victories for their people. We can learn from the comprehensive welfare state maintained by the Swedes, from Canada's national health care system, France's nationwide childcare program, and Nicaragua's literacy programs. We are not a separate party from the Democratic Party. Like our friends and allies in the feminist, labor, civil rights, religious, and community organizing movements, many of us have been active in the Democratic Party. We work with those movements to strengthen the party's left wing, represented by the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Although capitalism will be with us for a long time, reforms we win now--raising the minimum wage, securing a national health plan, and demanding passage of right-to-strike legislation--can bring us closer to socialism. Many democratic socialists actively work in the single-issue organizations that advocate for those reforms. We are visible in the reproductive freedom movement, the fight for student aid, gay and lesbian organizations, anti-racist groups, and the labor movement. Schools, Colleges and Universities are important to American political culture. They are the places where ideas are formulated and policy discussed and developed. Being an active part of that discussion is a critical job for young socialists. We have to work hard to change people's misconceptions about socialism. We call ourselves socialists because we are proud of what we are. No matter what we call ourselves, conservatives will use it against us. Anti-socialism has been repeatedly used to attack reforms that shift power to working class people and away from corporate capital.
Are these the principles and values every member of congress is obligated to under their oath of office? Or are these the very ideas the founders warned us about, that every member of congress is sworn to protect and defend the nation against? Who is the Congressional Progressive Caucus? The Congressional Progressive Caucus is made up of Democrat members of congress that are also members of and represent the agenda of, the Democratic Socialists of America. 67 House members and 1 Senate member belong to this group. Together, they work from within the halls of congress to advance the agenda of the Democratic Socialists of America. This is not some silly conspiracy theory. This is fact. It's out in the open. They no longer see a need to hide beneath the other names, liberal, progressive, socially conscious or Democrat. The American people no longer fear socialism. Many now openly embrace it. This is the core of the enemy within! As public members of the Democratic Socialists of America, the Congressional Progressive Caucus and the Democrat Party, these representatives of the people are using "democratic" tools and patriotic sounding politically correct and socially conscious labels to sell socialism to Americans via a constitutional process. But they do so at odds with every founding American principle and in violation of their oath of office, which demands that they use all available means to defend America against the very ideas they are openly promoting. It's vital to America's future that every American learns the name of these members and work to remove all of them from office by any means available. "Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends [Life, Liberty and Freedom], it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it;" It is in fact, our duty to alter or abolish such a government. Not on My Watch! The founders and the generations of patriots that came before me, left to me an America that respected above all else, an unalienable God given right to Life, individual Liberty and personal Freedom to pursue individual Happiness through personal achievement in a free-market system of self-governance. It will not become the tyrannical socialist welfare state that so many Americans died to protect our generation from. Not on my watch! The 2008 Election What does Democrat Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton mean when she says
