Two days into the launch of #1 New York Times bestselling author Dinesh D'Souza's new book THE BIG LIE, D'Souza's mega-popular Facebook page (over 2 million fans) was hacked. D'Souza was locked out of his own account; his promotional campaign for the book was halted; and the hacker began posting explicit and upsetting images as D'Souza. The next day, Regnery Publishing's own business account was frozen after Facebook detected "unusual activity." As a conservative book publisher, Regnery is accustomed to attacks from people who don't like our books. That's fine with us—we welcome criticism and debate. But this attack was something different. This was an orchestrated, underhanded campaign to sabotage a book launch.
This is what today's Leftists do when you say something they don't like. The Washington Examiner's Paul Bedard explained what happened and why it matters:
At the height of his first week promoting and selling his new book detailing the Democratic Party's "cozy" relationship with Nazism, author Dinesh D'Souza's Facebook page was hacked, blocking key sales, and the social media giant was slow to fix the costly problem. With his page dedicated to the book The Big Lie: Exposing the Nazi Roots of the American Left, hackers invaded Wednesday, and even posted gratuitous material on it including drawings of naked Disney sweethearts. What's more, his publisher's Facebook Ad account was shut down. Regnery Publishing President Marji Ross told Secrets, "Clearly the leftist establishment will never learn that the more they try to silence the ideas, beliefs, and values held by the majority of Americans, the more hungry and determined they become to make themselves heard. These attacks and Facebook's slow response only prove Dinesh and The Big Lie's point, and is serving to create an even higher demand for this book. Bring it on."

D'Souza said that his page was restored late yesterday and his team given back their administrative privileges. But he ripped the hackers and Facebook's slow response. He told Secrets, "In the very first days of my new book 'The Big Lie' coming out, my Facebook page has been hacked, rendering me completely unable to share anything with my fans. My team has been desperately attempting to get Facebook to address the problem, but they have not responded to us. This is very surprising given that Facebook is a private company and we are a big and loyal customer. I have over 2 million followers on Facebook who are now all vulnerable to receiving spam and junk posts that are not coming from me." Hackers put gratuitous material on Dinesh D'Souza's Facebook page. The book isn't one that the left would like. At a time when Democrats and left-leaning media and TV hosts are accusing President Trump and his team of having Nazi leanings, D'Souza shows how the Democrats have Nazi ties and even "inspired" Adolf Hitler. The hack came at a crucial time because D'Souza is at the start of his book promotion period and he uses Facebook to reach out to his supporters and followers. Before the hack, his book was No. 5 on Facebook. It slipped to 25th during the Facebook blackout.
