Dozens of trainee police officers have been killed in a bomb attack on a police training centre in Libya, according to news reports.

The bomb, in a lorry parked outside the training centre in the western city of Zliten, exploded as hundreds of police recruits were gathering, mayor Miftah Lahmadi said. Reports on the number of dead vary with sources from the internationally recognised government saying 15 people were dead and 30 wounded, while news agencies reported more than 60 people have been killed and 127 wounded.
