Can there please be a Civil War General named Joe Buck?

ESPN yanks announcer Robert Lee from broadcast because his name sounds like a Civil War general. Even MSNBC mockS

Take a look at the picture at the top of the page. Go ahead. Take your time, and study it. ...We're not in a hurry and there will be a quiz in a moment, so be sure you've really gotten a good, long, look at the two men. OK. Ready? It's time for your test. Which one of those men is southern Civil War General Robert E. Lee?
I know, it's a bit tricky. They look a lot alike. I assure you, though, there is a right answer here. No "common core" explanations, either. Just pick one. OK, give up? If you said, "General Lee is the guy on the left," congratulations. You're stupid enough to confuse a mid-30's Asian man with a white rebel military commander who's been dead over a hundred years. Apparently, ESPN thinks its audience is filled with such idiots, because the 'guy on the left' is a broadcaster named Robert Lee. He was yanked from a UVA broadcast because his name is 'similar' to the General pictured on the right. It seems the once-important sports network thought its audience would be frightened and confused by their oh-so-obvious interchangeability. As ESPN wrote in a statement:
“We collectively made the decision with Robert to switch games as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding, simply because of the coincidence of his name. In that moment it felt right to all parties. It’s a shame that this is even a topic of conversation and we regret that who calls play by play for a football game has become an issue.”

That has got to be the most idiotic decision I've ever seen in my entire life. How far down the left-wing rabbit hole do you have to be to even think like this? Seriously, how crazy do you have to be before this thought even crosses your mind? ESPN is trying to claim it didn't want Robert Lee - that's the broadcaster, not the General - to become the butt of jokes and internet memes. Well, bang-up job on that, guys! You've taken something no sane person would have noticed and turned it into a watershed moment in the history of political correctness gone mad. Good Lord, even the Democrat sheep over at MSNBC can see how utterly moronic this is... Just ...unreal. Now, if only there was a southern Civil War General named "Joe Buck." Then, maybe I could get on board.
