Bernie Sanders has been verbally hitting Hillary Clinton about her vote in the Senate giving Pres. George W. Bush authority to go to war in Iraq. She has claimed that, in hindsight and in trying to appease the left-wing of the Democrat Party, that she made a mistake and blamed, as usual, Pres. Bush for spreading false information.
One problem with that explanation was that she had the same information that the Administration had and that Congress had. And on October 10, 2002, she made the following statement on the Senate floor.
“In the 4 years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam
Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons”.
She echoed the sentiments of her fellow Democrats such as Bill Clinton, Jay Rockefeller, Madeleine Albright, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Sandy Berger, Joe Biden, Carl Levin,
Tom Daschle, Bob Graham, Al Gore, and Robert Byrd etc.
Were all those Democrats, along with Hillary Clinton, taken in by George W. Bush?
The old expression of “You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time” certainly applies to Hillary and her fellow Democrats who supported regime change in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq in March, 2003.
Her disingenuous remarks about her support for the Iraq War shows why, in a recent poll, when people were asked what was the first word that came to your mind when the name Hillary Clinton was offered, the first three responses were liar, dishonest, and untrustworthy. She has earned everyone of those adjectives. This was not a new phenomenon for Hillary to be depicted like that. Back in 1996, the late N.Y. Times columnist, William Safire, said the following about Hillary Clinton.
“Americans of all political persuasions are coming to the sad realization that our 1st lady (Hillary) – a talented woman of undoubted talent who was a role model for many in her generation – is a “congenital liar”. “Drip by drip, like Whitewater torture, the case is being made that she is compelled to mislead, and ensnare her subordinates and friends in a web of deceit”.
So her attempt at blaming George W. Bush for the actions that she took as a U.S. Senator, was just another “nail in the coffin” of her reputation of being a dishonest person.
We must not let her return to the White House as President of the United States. We can't afford another 4 years of the deceitful Obama Administration by electing Hillary who has championed the failed policies of Obama. Enough is enough.
