Our history in the United States has been one to be proud of. Time has tested us and our desire too leave for our posterity better than previous generations have left us, have been met. Success has been there, through hard work and perseverance. Sometimes it was inevitable, our goals weren’t to be met. But we labored on, and made adjustments turning forward full steam ahead.

However there were additional stumbling blocks that altered our directions temporarily. But none so dire as the current attack on our ultimate desire, to better our future generations and ourselves. Worse than any attacks that external wars have caused when reaching across our borders this fight is an ideological combat from with-in, that threatens to unwind those attained successes along with learned failures, and replace them with attained failures and minimal successes. An over throw of Republicanism in exchange for Socialism. The "President" of our proud nation takes the time out of his ever so precious days activities which otherwise would be filled with the many problems our country faces to demean the republic he is constitutionally bound to defend. All that don't agree with his personal ideology or whim's are his enemies and are characterized by liberals as racist. Those few minions that bear allegiance to him over that of our Constitutionally formed nation, founded under a long standing legal system are seeing changes that are arbitrary and filled with anarchy. Those labeling themselves as "The Tea Party" in an attempt to recreate the symbolism of "The Founding Fathers" without the shedding of blood establishing our country are brushed aside as right wing ideologues, when in reality, even by the least astute should be seen as a microcosm of society who are expressing the need to returning to the rule of law. And yet all is thwarted by a continued push to divisiveness' from all fronts of the reigning presidency and his disciples in both houses of "Congress" using the old adage "divide and concur" as their banner. As mentioned earlier, "Those few minions that bear allegiance to him" are becoming fewer and fewer. The bearers of his banner seeming now to see the light are deserting their assigned post by the handfuls. Even if some have other reasons for leaving beyond seeing the light, thank "Xxds" gift for man's ability to stand up for what's right and come together when the Philistines approach menacingly. With the words of John Paul Jones ringing and sentiment in my head “I have not begun to fight” I began stifling my depression and pessimism and remembered some 'dreams from' "My Father" penned another time and place. He titled was “Youth”. I present it to you as “Hope”
“Youth is not a time of life. It is a state of mind. It is not a matter of ripe cheeks, red lips, and supple knees; it is a freshness of the deep springs of life. Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over love of ease. This often exists in a man of fifty more than a boy of twenty. Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years. People grow old only by deserting their ideals. Years wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, doubt, self-distrust, fear and despair, scar the long years that bow the head and turn the growing spirit back to oust. Whether seventy or sixteen, there is in every being’s heart the love of wonder, the sweet amazement at the stars and the star like things and thoughts, the undaunted challenge of events, the unfailing childlike for what next, and the joy and the game of life. You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as you self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair. In the central place of your heart there is a wireless station. So long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage, grandeur and power from the earth, from men and the infinite so long are you young. When the wires are all down and all the central place of your heart is covered with snows of pessimism and the ice of cynicism, then have you’ve grown old indeed and may God have mercy on your soul….”
I look forward to all my readers spreading the word, going to the polls on November 2 and pledging never to give away easily the rights of freedom and self determination.
