A couple of weeks ago a woman working at a sandwich shop on the West Coast was venerated by a local TV station for refusing to do business with some guy who hurled anti-Islamic criticism at a couple of girl patrons wearing hijabs. In the shop's video, you can hear his disparaging remarks regarding the bad things Islam is bringing upon America. The crusading employee who expelled the name-caller was proud and bubbly as she detailed her defense of the two 'Muslim' girls and how she wouldn't accept the man's money (and took back her food).
When it came their turn, the two 'Muslim' girls (all smiles and in heavy makeup) were so authentic in their Islamic 'presence' that it whirled me back in time. I thought I was listening to a holy narrative flowing from a couple of Mohammed's young wives centuries ago (words to this effect) "We were just like, sitting here? And, all of a sudden, he, like, got all racist? And then we were like, all, mmmm ... And so she like wouldn't take his money? And so he was like all freaking out and mad, and racist?"
A subsequent interview followed with the crowd of new patrons who flocked to the place after the first interview aired. A woman with bags of sandwiches grinned into the camera (again, words to this effect): "We just want to show our support for this business for their having taken such a bold stand in defending these Mawslums! We just really believe in equality for every race!" None of the players in that event had a nodding acquaintance with real Islam - but instead only parroted popular misconceptions from every angle. (The names and locations were changed to protect the ignorant.) (And sorry to break the news, ladies, but Islam is not a race.)
I don't agree with the man in his rudeness to the two wannabe Islamists. But, at the same time, I do understand his frustration. He was trying to make a point. He is just way too late and didn't know exactly who or what needed to be addressed. As more and more young Americans claim Islam as their 'faith' or dismiss it as just a Middle Eastern version of Catholicism, the momentum of the avalanche our president has put into motion is doing great violence to the biblical principles that made our nation strong. The eternal vigilance Jefferson or Courtney had told us was the bill for our freedom and peace has not been paid in years. And what we have nowadays is a land full of sheep. The term, 'sheeple,' has been beat to death, I realize - but it is nonetheless perfectly descriptive in this instance. And even the most ardently embraced desire to preserve our traditions, no matter how sincere that desire, is worthless vainglory apart from a working knowledge of (1.) why things were once good and (2.) how they fell apart.
We stopped being a great nation, largely because the baby boomers had the idea our constitutional government would take care of itself while we pursued our dreams. And now as a result of our neglect, we have a tidal wave of new UN-AMERICAN politics taking over. As I have mentioned before, Islam is a formidable political power rolling along in the pretense (and armor) of a religion. It draws its strength and longevity from generations of followers who believe an almighty monster-god is its author and overseer. And that explains why the people closest to its heart are willing to die rather than fail to satisfy the demands of jihad. Islam's front line soldiers/martyrs are people driven entirely by the fear of their Allah's unquenchable wrath. And even the most sincere but ignorant passion for what America used to be is no match for that level of devotion.

And, in place of a real relationship with the living God, they are buying the 'romantic' and 'mysterious' Hollywood, 'Scheherazade' version of Islam which features the robes, keffiyehs and flashing scimitars - all of which have nothing to do with the nightmare that is real Islam. Spoiled American high school and college girls (like the two kids in the sandwich shop who've never been beaten or doctrinally regarded as merely servants and baby-makers) love their new, attention-getting veils. And so many 'awesome dudes' are sporting their beards and headgear for the same air-headed reason. Islam has now found a home in America largely as this generation's version of 'rebellion'.
In the 60s, a barely educated boy (who would one day become a close friend of our current president) helped to form the 'Weather Underground' and bombed headquarters of the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C. Today, any moron can become an operative of an awakening Islam (which is also close to our president's heart), and kill Americans on American soil. In the meantime, our general populace seems to hide behind liberal media's (in league with Obama's) flimsy excuses regarding extremist Muslims (excuses the Muslims don't even make for themselves). And as I've said before, there is no extremism about Islam, only a knowledge or ignorance of its demands.
Amazingly, with the help of our chief exec (and I am convinced he is quite wittingly Islam's greatest ally in our nation) an invading Islam is safely entering among the ranks of hundreds of thousands of invited 'refugees' and picking up recruits through broadcast enlistment messages made by overseas ISIS members taking advantage of our current discord. So much of America is still insisting these invaders are as innocuous as a troupe of Girl Scouts selling cookies. Islam, just like every other out-of-control malady in today's America, has its own act together. And they are full steam ahead. They slide in telling stupid people the lie that they worship the same God everyone else does; 'just in a different way'. Because of our godless laziness, our president can get away with telling his BREATHTAKING LIE that 'militant Islam' doesn't exist. He can do that because only militant Islamists are conversant with the real, esoteric Quran. And therefore his secret is safe with them. True Islam is militant. Period.

Just like what's happening right now in Germany, the police are often told by politically correct city officials to just leave the Muslims to themselves - ignoring recent history and common sense for fear of giving even the appearance of religious persecution or 'profiling'. Politically correct America is refusing to acknowledge that cancer that has already engulfed so much of Europe and much of what's left of the 'free world.' Today, Islam is now the big, touchy elephant standing in the center of the room, daring anyone to object to the mess that it leaves. And the respective governments are tiptoeing around the nightmare of the possibility of offending that monster. What a shuck.
The wisdom of Santayana (or Burke), "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.", is not so much the issue with recognising the threat Islam poses to us here in the west! Forget history! All we have to do right now is to observe the PRESENT plight of Germany. German Chancellor Angela Merkel is Germany's Obama. The incredible damage being INVITED by both these leaders respectively is so willfully orchestrated, the devil himself could not have done better.
Muslims here demand and receive better treatment and consideration than the churches of America that have been with us since long before we gave Barack his throne. As they grow in number, they hide behind our constitutional guarantee of religious freedom while denying the rest of us our freedom of speech. But, again, like in Paris or London, when they have grown to the point of being a bullying plurality, we will, just like London and Paris and elsewhere, suddenly have squads of cocky volunteer 'sharia enforcement' weirdos running around telling women how short their skirts can be and sniffing for alcohol.
But the bottom line and hard fact is that we are now in the middle of a rapidly heating, spiritual battle. I know this is tough for many to hear. And nobody gets serious about God, it seems, until faced with death. Nevertheless there is, and always has been, a deadly serious fight underway for the eternal souls of mankind. We are now reaching the culmination of that conflict, which is why so much in this world is currently raging so completely out of control. And the ignorance I've been talking about that's causing the worst problems in America and globally is entirely the result of our ignorant disregard for the Bible's truth that God gave us, well in advance of this terrible time and for our own best interests.
It's funny how when even atheists, New Agers, punk rocking skinheads - you name it - go looking for a nanny or babysitter for their kids, they all prefer a little old lady/Sunday school teacher over some cross-dressing maniac. Why would that be? It's because, deep in our hearts, we know the difference between right and wrong. That's because, just as Jesus had promised (John 16:18), God's Spirit is knocking on the doors of the hearts of all his creation. It's why, every now and then, some formerly bloodthirsty ISIS member will defect: because he knows, somehow, that beheading 'infidels,' raping and selling women as sex slaves, and burning people alive is evil and has nothing to do with our Creator (who early on used stringent legalism only in order to demonstrate His humanly unattainable holiness). Ultimately, His Son came and lived the perfect life for us. And by the gift of faith, Jesus' perfection can be applied to our hearts - forever!
Jesus said, "If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!" (Matthew 6:23) In other words, if you believe an evil thing to be of God, you are listening to the wrong voice! God in his Bible does say that homosexuality is wrong. But the moment you go hurling gays off the roof or shooting up a gay bar, you are not listening to the New Testament's Jesus, God's Son, who died to save the lost. The vengeful darkness of Islam is in no way similar to the saving LIGHT of the GOOD NEWS of our true Creator and God who is patiently waiting for your heart to seek Him. And America will never change for the better until the hearts of her people again look to Him for that healing. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
