Newt Gingrich handed CNN’s John King his dentures and a slightly bruised ego

It was a solar eclipse moment

It was a solar eclipse moment in South Carolina, late this week when Newt Gingrich handed CNN’s John King his dentures and a slightly bruised ego. I was so proud of Newt, words fall short.
It is incredible the in-the-tank mainstream media, including NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, and bird-cage covering Newsweek have devolved to such a base level. It stretches the imagination how these media toilets can call themselves reporters. The above are a disgrace to professional journalism. Ah, but the John King moment was a classic. Here pretty boy John opens a national debate in South Carolina, two days before the primary with a nearly two-year-old Esquire interview with Newt’s 2nd ex-wife, Marianne. The subject was Newt’s dirty laundry. I am delighted to tell you Newt handled himself in a manner that was commanding, so outstanding, it was a sheer joy to watch. I cannot remember a solar eclipse moment so profound since the 1988 presidential election in which George Bush the elder was running against Michael Dukakis. The two Vice-presidential candidates squared off for a debate in Omaha in October of that year. Republican Bush’s running mate was the questionably inexperienced Dan Quayle and in a debate with Dukakis’ running mate Senator Lloyd Bentsen, Quayle crowed about his political experience and said he was about the same age, 41, when John Kennedy ran for president in 1960.

Quayle was simply out of his league and Bentsen went in for the kill. “Sir”, addressing Quayle, “I served with John Kennedy, I knew John Kennedy, John Kennedy was a friend of mine, and you, sir, are no John Kennedy.” The room of onlookers responded accordingly, and Debate host Judy Woodruff admonished the audience to please be quiet. Quayle responded by calling the statement uncalled for. Hey, that’s politics in the big city. Needless to say, Bush won the election and Quayle stepped on his tie many more times during his unceremonious tenure as the Vice President. Indeed, the Bentsen moment was a solar eclipse moment. The question begs to be asked how the biased mainstream media will respond to this blowback by Gingrich. I suspect, the so called mainstream media are thoroughly unembarrassable and will continue their assault on Conservatives and shamelessly display blatant double standards in protecting their little radical treasure in the body of President Barack Hussein Obama. But one thing is for certain: the gauntlet has been thrown. Whether Newt is the nominee or Romney, Santorum, or Paul win the nomination. That individual will not sit still for the crap thrown by these journalistic frauds, and that individual will surface as the 45th president of the United States. It will indeed be an event when the sun emerges from this solar eclipse, November 6.
