I've Had It Up To Here! And I'm Gagging!

The subject for discussion is "racial inequality". I have heard that phrase for the umpteenth time over the past few days. And it is infuriating! While the phrase is not new it is now ridiculously over-used to describe the reason why some NFL players refuse to honor the nation's flag and anthem. Black players, mysteriously accompanied by a few sympathizing white players, "take a knee" during the traditional patriotic presentation occurring before every NFL game. These dolts (the best insult to describe jocks, among other neanderthals) refuse to stand respectfully still and silent as dictated by the league's rules. Stunned fans in the stadiums and watching on TV, are asking, "Why are they doing that?" More crudely, some are screaming, "WTF?!"

And the fans are tuning out, and not turning out, and burning team gear and season tickets, because they are offended by the stupidity of people they previously admired for their athletic prowess. Whether the athletes were bright or not did not enter into the equation as long as they could play the game well. Now it does! As for team owners and league management, I looked for a descriptive word to replace dolts. There are many synonyms . . . I like meatheads! The words "racial inequality" are a catchphrase easily uttered by uniformed or unthinking people who, when asked what they actually mean by that, will appear stupefied and unable to answer. I witnessed that on a popular news show. The askee, a black attorney invited on the show because he might have something intelligent to impart to the TV audience, took on a dazed look. A pregnant pause ensued. The host asker had to pick up the conversation. There is a reason why the question can't be answered intelligently, or even stupidly. In this context the phrase is without merit. The facts negate the words. Every position of authority in this country has been held by a black person at some time or another. There are constituencies in this country where blacks outnumber whites and a strictly racial vote always ensues in those instances. Are those constituents ever referred to as racists by the leftist media? No, they are not! Those jurisdictions send representatives to Washington. But if every voter cast a ballot based on their own skin color Obama might still be a community organizer. He most certainly would not have been a senator elected in a statewide contest. Obama got to Washington. And he made it all the way to the top! A strictly racial vote nationwide would not have permitted that. Where is "racial inequality"? In February 2007, one of Obama's competitors for the top job stated, "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy." The utterer of those admiring words was Joe Biden who became Obama's VP. He willingly took second banana. And he added, "I mean, that's a storybook, man." Racial inequality"? I don't think so.

It is easy to find prominent black people in lofty positions. Many are millionaires. And some have become billionaires. I ask again, "Where is racial inequality?" Maybe "pure" communism, meaning everyone has the same existence (that has never been the case BTW), would qualify for the description of "equality". Our system promises equality of opportunity. It does not promise equality of result. You have to make it on your own. No person of color in this country is absolutely condemned to failure. If that was the case it probably would describe "racial inequality" and I wouldn't be penning this screed. If that was a law or a rule or a practice the kneelers might have a case to be made. But it isn't a law or a rule or a practice. And never will be. People of all colors have escaped terrible environments and excelled in life. Here's an example (from Wikipedia).

If "racial inequality" was a valid reason for disrespecting this nation, what you just read immediately above could not have been written. A deviant society can be restraining for some but grit and talent can defeat situational conditions. Many NFL players came out of ghettoes. If gang bangers choose to remain enslaved to their environment it is not the fault of anyone other than themselves. I rest my case by telling the sympathizers and apologizers for the kneelers to quit using an obviously lame excuse. Get on your feet, put your hand over your heart, face the flag . . . and "STFU!" Just play the game.
