Somewhere out there in the fruited plains of America are 59,934,786 million souls, many of whom must be down on this day of all days: Inauguration Day for a president who will try to turn a proud 232-year-old Democracy into a Socialist State.
How is it even possible that people the world over are looking to a crass Chicago politician to put meaning into their empty lives? A fawning mainstream media, Hollywood, advertising, hype and cash to pay for it all from American taxpayers.
In the cult called Barack Obama, The Messiah has arrived.
Even if you turn off the television and the radio, you can’t help but run into the Big O out on the street where even lost pet signs nailed to village, town and city lampposts employ the logo of his rising sun.
For those not running in the wolf pack, a dark chapter descends today upon the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, and many fear that all is lost.
But even as people not caught up in the manufactured mania try to get through this day, there is real hope coming as the clock of January 20, 2009 strikes midnight. The clock strikes midnight for the real Cinderellas of the world, too.
For even though the man who kicked off a cult by reinventing himself in a book called Dreams of My Father, and even though no one really knows who the politician using the Bible of Abraham Lincoln at today’s swearing-in ceremony really is, just like for all the rest of us, the day after is inevitable.
Today, surrounded by what the media has described as “thousands and thousands” of unstoppable celebrants and well wishers, those waving the Stars and Stripes with Obama’s picture, are really only the same kind of strangers who show up for rock stars and the funerals of people like Princess Diana, people they don’t even know.
Today no one will stand up to the reality that Barack Obama cannot walk on water, and cannot rescue the world his handlers say is no longer dependable and is going down the tubes within four short years.
But for all of the hysterical hype, Barack Obama cannot possibly pull off his presidency without you, and you will be too busy trying to survive the worldwide recession politicians like Obama helped to create.
One of the results of an Obama in the White House yet to come is that real people will be turning back to the things that really matter, God, family and country.
For it is not the madly cheering street throngs of today that Obama will have to worry about, but about those who silently go about their business as they would any other day.
No matter what situation crass politicians create, average people will always worry about their rent, their mortgage, their children’s university tuition.
Millions will still worship at the altar of God, the Creator and not at the altar of a pretend Messiah.
Human Nature will prove once again that at the end of the day the things that really matter to the masses cannot possibly be wiped out by a mere icon.
Even as Barack and Michelle dance the night away, they retire for the night alone with only each other and their thoughts. Both made it plain during the campaign that few of their thoughts originate from nobility. Obama and Michelle are activists sent to the top of politics by negativity. They only got to where they are by their burning resentment—resentment for a country that afforded them the ability to lead charmed lives.
Negativity is their God and built-in resentment no matter the reason breeds only bitterness.
Even in a media hype never seen before some people know not to look for change,. They do not look for hope or anything decent or noble from the Obamas. This pair of activists will be doing everything within their newly-found power to demoralize Americans and all others who are not “progressives”.
But it is impossible to demoralize people with families depending on them.
Even as Winter of 2009 is setting records as one of the coldest, winter will be forgotten come May. For three short months most people will hibernate, gathering their families close waiting for the blossoms of Spring that follow each Winter.
Barack Obama has ignored almost 60 million voters, who will do their best to ignore him and the Clintonistas who dominate his “new” administration.
The sun will rise and set tomorrow as it has always done.
Over at the White House two activists, giddy with power, will be learning that “To the victor go the spoils”.
And oh My God, what spoils!
Meanwhile, keep the faith. It’s the only reality that matters.
Obama’s Inauguration Has Been Financed Partially by Bailed-Out Wall Street Executives
By SCOTT MAYEROWITZ, ABC NEWS Business Unit
The country is in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, which isn’t stopping rich donors and the government from spending $170 million, or more, on the inauguration of Barack Obama .
The actual swearing-in ceremony will cost $1.24 million, according to Carole Florman, spokeswoman for the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.
It’s the security, parties and countless Porta-a-Potty rentals that really run up the bill.
The federal government estimates that it will spend roughly $49 million on the inaugural weekend. Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland have requested another $75 million from the federal government to help pay for their share of police, fire and medical services.
