Left's new narrative: Racism is breaking out everywhere!

One thing you must understand is that the left will never allow Donald Trump to govern. At least not until they've used up every conceivable arrow in their quiver. Now, you might think, what can they do? Republicans hold the White House and both houses of Congress, and we'll have our Supreme Court majority back. It's glorious, isn't it?
The left knows they don't have the numbers stop Trump and congressional Republicans from enacting a legislative agenda. But if you think that means they're going to give up, you're crazy. What they'll do instead is work with the media to create narratives that de-legitimize Trump, in the hope that it will make it impossible for him to govern. And three days after Trump was elected, we're already seeing one of the early ones forming: Oh my God! Racist incidents are breaking out all over America! Inspired by our new racist president! This! Must! Stop! Everyone is terrified! I told you yesterday of the mountain they made out of a molehill right down the street from me (literally) in my home city of Royal Oak, Michigan. Today they're hyperventilating because, supposedly, students in DeWitt, Michigan "formed a human wall" to keep a minority student from getting to her class.

Now the incident in Royal Oak was nothing more than a group of middle school students chanting something in a cafeteria. It sounds quite stupid (like pretty much everything that happens in a middle school), but that's all it was. I don't know enough about the incident in DeWitt to know if the media reports are accurate or absurdly overblown. (And I don't know what it is about Michigan.) But I know two things for sure. First, the DeWitt incident seems certainly to be a case of students treating another student badly, and that should never happen no matter what the motivation or ethnicity of the people involved. Yes, it's bullying. The left wants to talk about bullying only in the context of minority or gay students being mistreated. But it's wrong no matter who's doing it, or to whom it's being done. Second, none of this behavior is encouraged or approved by Donald Trump. Trump wants to enforce immigration laws already on the books, and secure the border. He does not want to kick Latino children who are in this country legally out of the country. He has never advocated any such thing. If these students think Trump supports that, it's not because they heard him say it. He never has. It's because they've believed the media caricature of the racist bully Donald Trump. And you can expect more of this. You'll hear of incidents like this all over the country, with the media trumpeting them daily as evidence that American has gone mad with racist rage now that they feel their racist new president has given them license to do so. If you pay attention, you'll also learn that many of these incidents are fake, like this one.

They will use these stories just as they've used a handful of amateur videos to create the illusion that racist police brutality is an epidemic. They're just getting started. You're also going to be on the receiving end of lectures like this one, which tell you the mere fact that you voted for Trump makes you a bigot. And every time something happens in this country that can be portrayed as racist, whether it legitimately is or not, it will be presented as evidence of an out-of-control wave of hate brought on by you-know-who. If the media want to lecture Trump that it's his responsibility to unite the country, maybe they could help by not overhyping small, isolated incidents and using them to accuse half the country of being grand wizards of the Ku Klux Klan. But of course, they don't want unity. What they want is to de-legitimize our new president. They don't have the congressional numbers to stop him. So they're going to try accusing the entire country of being a bunch of David Dukes. They're not just going after Trump. They're going after you. Maybe we're going to have that civil war after all. Not because Trump wants it. But because the left can't help itself.
