The attacker's name was Abu Izzadeen, and he was a well-known "hate preacher" in the UK.

London attack: Let's not jump to conclusions . . . aaaaaaaand it's Islam

Nope. It wasn't an Irish Catholic nationalist. It wasn't a right-wing tax-cutter. It wasn't a Brexit activist. Nope. The guy who showed up and proceeded to mow people down at the British Parliament today was, according to the UK's Independent, exactly what most terrorists are. He was a radical Islamist, because . . . because of course he was:
The attacker, who drove a vehicle across Westminster Bridge, killing at least two people, before stabbing a police officer to death outside the Houses of Parliament earlier today, has been named by top journalists as Abu Izzadeen. Abu Izzadeen, whose birth name was Trevor Brooks, was reportedly shot by police after the attack and later died of his injuries. He is a well known high-profile British Islamic extremist. Abu spent time in jail back in 2008 for inciting attacks against the UK and the U.S. and for raising funds for terrorism groups such as al-Muhajiroun. Izzadeen, who was brought up in Hackney, was released in May 2009 but continued in his outspoken extremist ways – featuring in numerous online videos inciting hatred. Eerily he can be seen in one video urging people to ‘kill the British police’. Back in 2015 he was arrested for breaching a travel ban when he and a man known as Simon Keeler were detained by police in Hungary and deported back to the UK.

But there's no need for travel bans, right? Now it shouldn't be necessary to repeat this yet again, but the point here is not to tar all Muslims by association. The vast majority of Muslims - I would say almost all Muslims - are not terrorists and detest what men like this do. But the fact remains that virtually all terrorism comes from within this one subset of the world's population, which means that Islam has a problem within its own ranks, and it's become a massive problem for everyone else too. If we aren't willing to say who the bad guys are, how can we ever stop them? This is not a problem with President Trump, but it's kind of a new thing to have an American president who doesn't think it's counterproductive to state the obvious. Bear with me while I get used to it. The point of things like travel bans is to keep radicalized Islamists like this guy from coming into our country and doing this here. Why is the focus on predominantly Muslim countries? Because the terrorists are always Muslim. Every. Single. Damn. Time. And I would like to ask the peace-loving Muslims, which is most of them, how the rest of us might work with them to stop crap like this from happening. But I know it can't start by pretending the problem isn't what it clearly is.
