Every single European nation which followed a policy like the one Obama is now belatedly PUSHING AGGRESSIVELY has experienced total failure, and a disastrous one at that. Spain, England, etc have all been racing to tear down their green jobs programs ASAP to avoid further economic damage of great severity.
Apparently, since such a policy has at last become a CONCLUSIVELY PROVEN failure, Obama now feels safe to push it aggressively. Oh, well, better late than never.
Spain was #1, the leader, first to go aggressive with green jobs and government sponsored green investments. When they started, with fullest hopes and emptiest heads held high, I estimated that
1. about 2 real jobs would be destroyed for each green one created, and . . .
2. the jobs lost would be permanent jobs, while the few created would be only temporary and soon lost also.
Hard to imagine a more effective prescription for simultaneous job-destruction and real-wealth destruction on a massive scale. But our determined President remains undeterred and unperturbed. He is forging ahead with the same gusto he displayed when he forged ahead on his birth certificate issue.
Just about a year or so ago Spain's government embarrassingly admitted, finally, that their green investment and jobs policy had proven an utterly complete and total
disastrous failure. Shortly thereafter, England and others were forced to admit the same. This is too universally the result to be coincidence (
and it was completely predictable.
too!!). But it matters not that the policy is in denial of the BASIC PHYSICAL LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE, or that it's also in direct opposition to certain fundamental basics of economic law. Obama wants to adopt it, now that the predictable disastrous results are finally in from just about everywhere it's been tried. And NOW is the time he has chosen to push it in the US --
AGGRESSIVELY.
My 2nd forecast above was proven absolutely correct, about permanent vs temporary jobs. However:

I was WRONG. My estimate had been based purely on my knowledge and experience--it was a rough estimate. It turned out that the official statistics from Spain showed around
2.2 jobs lost for every green job created, rather than the 2 I'd estimated at the policy's inception. The statistics also showed that yes, the green jobs created proved indeed to be primarily temporary while the lost jobs had been permanent ones. So ... it looks like I was 10% or so off in one of my two estimates -- because I'd
UNDERESTIMATED the gross stupidity (and the gross ignorance) of those pushing it. They are just a little bit more stupid and tiny tad more ignorant than even I had thought possible. The results have been about 10% more flat wrong and extremely horrible than I had anticipated.
Our patriotic President however, refuses to stand idly by and let Europe maintain its monopoly on insanity. He refuses to let mere facts obstruct his plan. He is determined that the USA must hitch her wagon to this falling star so our economy can crash a bit more stupendously too.
We followed the Europeans into 2 of their insane World Wars, and we won. So, why shouldn't we be able to make the sun shine about 20 times brighter than it does, and at night too (without any negative consequences, of course)? All we have to do is wish hard and try, try again. After all, we're Americans!! Our President commands, and the laws of nature snap to attention!! THAT'S the real meaning of being America--isn't it?
As all good scientists know, "Nature, to be commanded, must be commanded by a genius President of the USA." Pretty darned easy after all, huh?
I remind the reader that because Obama supports the idea of aggressive government sponsorship of "green" investments as a means to create jobs, it has to be a correct idea, since Obama is never wrong, facts notwithstanding. Evil enemies and unpredictable, ornery events are the only causes which have foiled all his well-thought-out plans and brilliant ideas. Don't forget that according to almost every mainstream media expert, Obama happens to be a super-genius who is POSSIBLY--just possibly -- even a bit smarter than Beetle Bailey and Sad Sack were in their heyday!!
Yes, I know this can sometimes be hard to believe, especially for those who are distracted by red herrings such as the worse-than-poor results of similar policies in other nations. But as the great Obama has shown us by his own example, and as he is now determined to show us again, it is actually a piece of cake to believe things that are hard to believe. Make that Devil's Food cake.
Obama is pushing AGGRESSIVELY to follow in the footsteps of what has already predictably and actually failed -- and failed both CONCLUSIVELY and DISASTROUSLY. But if the retards in Europe who pushed this idiocy seem stupid, well, probably it was just their bad luck too . . . . right?
Our President knows very well that effective modern-day political leaders must have the correct modern attitude toward the citizens and taxpayers whom they have persuaded to elect them, an attitude best summarized by paraphrasing a famous quote attributed to Marie Antoinette during the happy days of the French Revolution: "Let them EAT that Devil's Food cake."
CONCLUSION and MORAL TO THE STORY: It takes a true genius to push really, really hard for demonstrably proven-false crap after it's been proven to be thoroughly false crap ten times over.
