McCain Files Lawsuit to Force Virginia to Count Military Ballots

While the left-wingers and liberal activists have registered and helped illegal aliens and homeless junkies to vote, they don't seem concerned about disenfranchising voters who actually DO fight for their fellow citizens.

And the mainstream news media don't appear concerned over US soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines being denied their rights to vote for their next Commander-in-Chief. Republican presidential hopeful John McCain -- the only candidate who actually did fight for this country -- yesterday sued the Virginia election board. McCain's legal representative claims that absentee ballots were not mailed on time to members of the US serving and fighting overseas. McCain's complaint requests the US District Court in Richmond to order the state to count absentee ballots postmarked by Tuesday. McCain's legal representative contends that thousands of troops' ballots -- many of which would go to McCain -- will not be counted. The deadline for ballots to be received is 7 p.m. Election Day, which is Tuesday. The lawsuit is the second in a week to challenge preparations for the presidential election in Virginia, where Barack Obama hopes to become the first Democrat since 1964 to win the state's 13 electoral votes. Polls over the past week show him about even with or slightly ahead of McCain, according to GOPUSA. More than 436,000 new Virginia voters have registered since Jan. 1, and about 500,000 people -- a tenth of the state's electorate-- have cast absentee ballots, according to GOPUSA. A hearing before a judge regarding McCain's lawsuit was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today.
