Men’s suits made to order in Toronto

It’s hard not to notice the impeccably clad men that bustle down King Street into huge skyscrapers and not think to yourself: “that is a nice suit”.

Okay, so maybe that isn’t the first thought that may pop into a female’s head, but living in a city that has a huge metropolitan core, it isn’t hard to dress to impress. Especially when traditional, suit makers House of Sagaldo, is suiting so many. House of Sagaldo originally commenced in 1951 after founder, Antonio Sagaldo immigrated to Canada, and opened its doors to the professionals of Bay Street. Currently it remains at Toronto’s one and only bespoke men’s suits store. Bespoke are suits that are “made to order” from fine fabrics and are designed tailor made for the individual. All garments are crafted by being individually cut and fitted to each client during the preliminary stages of sewing. Then comes the second fitting to ensure the suit’s precise measurements are correct and that it fits just right. Although tastes have changed over the years, House of Sagaldo refuses to stock any ready to made wear as to stay true to the bespoke fashion. Currenlty located I the centre of the hustle and bustle of the business district’s busy downtown core, House of Sagaldo has moved locations to the Toronto Dominon building but still remains close to its Bay Street roots.
