Democrat U.S. President Harry Truman was famous for the phrase, "I don't give them Hell. I just tell the truth about them and they think it's Hell." Such can be gleaned from the hand-wringing, demeaning reaction of Washington Post columnist Lonnae O'Neal. She is clearly perturbed by 13-year old Coreco JaQuan Pearson's viral video that is outspokenly critical of Mr. Obama's decision to invite Islamic schoolboy and clock-building hoaxer, 14-year old Ahmed Mohammad to the White House. Imagine the temerity of one black youth--a conservative activist--who dares depart the Democrat's political plantation!

Also published this week: Schoolboy Ahmed Mohammad: Obama bias? To Ms. O'Neal, to use her precise language, this 'pleasant-looking kid' is "weird" and "ick[y]." Ms. O'Neal, an adult, sounds like she, not Pearson, is the middle schooler talking about cooties. Previously on Fox News, Pearson defended former Mayor Rudy Giuliani's reasonable observation that president Obama, based upon his pro-Islamic bias, does not love America. Young Pearson's clear-eyed evidence to which Ms. O'Neal is intentionally oblivious: "When cops are being gunned down, [Mr. Obama doesn't] invite their family to the White House." Indeed, no drooling, but wisdom comes out of the mouth of this babe much to Ms. O'Neal's obvious dismay. It is heady stuff when a newspaper Goliath like The Washington Post takes on a truthful boy of such tender years for expressing a mature and differing opinion from his far left, repressive MSM elders. So, Ms. O'Neal, rather disgracefully, belittles the messenger because of his youth: '[Y]ou can't help be put off by anybody who is 13 and who is so disrespectful, especially without the standing and age to allow his words to pass for serious critique or discourse.' Like all progressives, she cannot contend with the beautiful, freeing truth of the teen's ageless, Trumanesque message. Therefore, to Ms. O'Neal's warped, politically correct sensibilities, his honesty is justifiably censured by her in print. Specifically, she blames Pearson for taking the political discourse to "an ugly place." From her column, it is apparent that she feels that only the "accomplished" (read: adult elitists, presumably liberals) should have a brand, a website and followers. Essentially, Ms. O'Neal feels undercut by the nature of instant information-sharing, the world wide web, because it is an equalizing platform to widely and powerfully transmit opinions contrary to her own. The internet may be the wild wild west of unregulated communication, but it is not the negative "Twilight Zone" she supposes. The real problem is not a political whiz-kid (with visibility and a distinctive voice), but the MSM--of which Lonnae O'Neal is a cog--that would underhandedly muzzle the legitimate views of a defenseless child.
