A Muslim-American national security staffer resigned after eight days working in the Trump administration, complaining that it was an “insult” to work under the U.S. President. Rumana Ahmed quit to much fanfare (of course). For all her complaining, Rumana Ahmed was not fired or let go when President Trump took office. On the contrary, the devout Muslim kept her position. which says more about President Trump than it does about her. Rumana Ahmed wasn’t abused, harassed, insulted or anything of the kind. No, Ahmed quit when the President issued a ban on travelers from seven terror-riddled countries. She said could no longer stay and “work for an administration that saw me and people like me not as fellow citizens, but as a threat.” Why? Her country of origin, Bangladesh, was not on the restricted list. If Ahmed is unconcerned with our national security, why should she work as a national security staffer? Rumana Ahmed was hired to a job at the White House straight out of college under President Obama. What were her qualifications for so critical a position?-- More...
