Cairo, Egypt—Finally, today., Egypt officially has a legitimate elected president for the next four years courtesy of the free will of an overwhelming majority of Egyptians and with 97% of those who went to the polls. Today Egypt begins a new phase of its history with dreams and hopes for a better tomorrow.

There are several things that must be emphasized as a result of El Sisi in power:
  1. El Sisi’s victory in this clean and fair presidential election as the international and local observers witnessed, even if it was without real competition because of the weakness of the other candidate and his lack of popularity. This election was completely free of any violations or fraud that usually happens in similar elections in various countries. This victory is bringing about the arrival of a large number of presidents, kings and officials to celebrate the inauguration of the El Sisi presidency and to congratulate him is the biggest proof that what happened in Egypt was not a military coup.
  2. Giving power to El Sisi comes at a time when Egypt has declared War on Terrorism. El Sisi has pledged more than once that he will eliminate terrorism and the Brotherhood as his top priority, and he has already succeeded achieving a large part of this vow during his former tenure as the defense minister. His presidency will give him all the tools and authority enabling him to continue this goal.
  3. One of the positive that comes with the new presidency is that El Sisi doesn’t only enjoy the love and support of Egyptians, but has the love and support of the Arab presidents and leaders, who were fully willing to stand by Egypt and support it its struggle to restore its economy. In comparison, a much better situation from when President Mohamed Morsi, who belongs o the Muslim Brotherhood took power and was reviled by Arab presidents and kings who were suspicious of Morsi and his intentions. Only Qatar, known for supporting terrorism, was on Morsi’s side.
  4. Love of El Sisi is not only originating from the Egyptian people and Arab leaders, but it is spreading out to the Arab people as well. Even they are displaying joy because Egypt is back on track after being freed from the Brotherhood and its bizarre ideology. It is clear on social media like Facebook and Twitter with comments of ordinary Arab citizens--with few exceptions who support the Brotherhood.
  5. It must be emphasized that El Sisi knows quite well that Egyptians put their trust in him and are waiting for him to restore the country’s security, economy, and tourism. Long suffering Egyptians expect him to do all of this very quickly and to feel the outcome of this improvement in their lives within a few months. This this means that the next stage should be a building phase with peace with everyone, including neighboring Israel and the United States.
Generally, the way people are talking in private shows that the Egyptians did not give a blank check to El Sisi or infinite validity, as some reports indicate. Egyptians had already become less patient with any president who did not achieve their demands, and El Sisi will not get a pass on this. The reality is that he must enter the presidential palace with both eyes on two former presidents in prison on charges of killing their opponents. No one believes that El Sisi should face the same fate. At the end of the day, this is perhaps the primary reason that he will try to rule Egypt with a justice that will satisfy Egyptians... or so we hope.
