The suspect who gunned down a New York City police officer Tuesday night has been released from the hospital and is in police custody, Fox News confirmed Wednesday morning.

Officer Randolph Holder, 33, was shot and killed late Tuesday in the East Harlem section of the city after he responded to a report of shots fired and an armed robbery, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said.
