Jane's still enamored by "good looking liberals" but appears to have lost her previous penchant for "high hopes that [Prime Minister] Justin Trudeau's Liberal government would follow through on commitments made there [in Paris, 2015],"
Must be the climate, or time of year that made her come to that conclusion, or something else. Even the Globe and Mail (G&M) writes that "Jane Fonda says Trudeau betrayed hopes for climate action"
Are the Chickens Coming Home to Roost?
The G&M also reports that Jane is not alone in her sorrows:
"Grand Chief Stewart Phillip of the Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs says the approval of Kinder Morgan's Trans Mountain pipeline expansion and Enbridge's Line 3 left him bitterly disappointed;" and
"Grand Chief Derek Nepinak of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs says Trudeau has failed to live up to the promises he made at an international meeting in Paris on climate change in 2015."
Are the chickens coming home to roost now? Is the "Great Alternative Energy Swindle" in the process of finding (albeit slowly) its resting place among other ill-conceived government schemes that were buried a long time ago?
Or is there no justice for Justin and Kathleen?
As it so happened, I also received an email from Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario, on the same day. You can find it below in its entirety ("Subject: An email from the Premier of Ontario"). Presumably, that email is in response to my OPEN LETTER to the Premier about the new "Cap & Trade" charge on any energy consumed as of Jan. 1st, 2017, as published here, here, and here.
Before I go on, if any of you, dear Readers, sent an email to the Premier and received the same reply to your submission, I would be keen to hear from you. If you have received a similar (or identical) reply to your own comment or complaint to the Premier, please let me know.
Now to the Specifics of the Premier's Message:
Wouldn't it be nice (at least) to be addressed as "Faithful Taxpayer," or similar?
Wouldn't it be nice (at least) to see a cursory reference to my actual submission?
Wouldn't it be nice (at least) to get the feeling that anyone even READ my submission?
Wouldn't it be nice (at least) to have the other government officials that I copied with my original submission to have copied with the reply as well?

I know--mea culpa--the old standards are rapidly disappearing with website submissions, tweets, fake or not so fake news, comments by trolls, etc. But isn't that the (claimed) reason for the governments to regularly having to raise new tax levies, increase existing ones, and still running ever-increasing deficits?
Isn't it for "our protection," or "our benefit," or our "Climate Change Action Plan" that the new levy (as prescribed by Wynne) is now part of an ever-increasing percentage of our earnings collected to satisfy the popular (and invited) demand for replies to OPEN LETTERS to the Premier and the like?
Where exactly is that "Climate Change"-Revenue going to?
Is it for maintaining (perhaps a novel concept to some politicians) infrastructure??
Is it for improvement of communication and health services in rural communities?
Is it to enable industry's ability to compete on a level playing field?
Driving down the local Main Street here, close to a major hospital, my car is shaking like a trembling aspen leaf in a strong breeze. It's worse than it was before the expensive redesign and road surface work from a few years ago. But we have "security" improvements now, like four or more cameras on each intersection that allow 24/365 recording of all your movements with tied-in instantaneous license plate and personal recognition software.
No doubt, the Premier (and, similarly, the Prime Minister) may think that such improvements will foster greater civil cohesion and that they'll help in the fight for all those lacking justice issues (like climate-, gender-, "etc."-justice) and other causes that their provincial and federal compatriots perceive as important.
Clearly, both Justin and Kathleen appear to be singing from different hymn books than the rest of the populace. And who could possibly provide better guidance for those justice warriors than Jane, David, and Moses, even when their formerly adored politicians are now mere "good looking Liberals?"
Perhaps, to improve "justice," all "carbon-activists" should be encouraged to take a brief fly-over across the oil-sand country before jetting back to their temperate Hollywood or Australian hideouts--provided they'll promise never again to make use of any carbon-based energy thereafter.
