The stupidity of the American voter.

Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber blames ACA collapse on Trump. ...Yes, really.

If you spend any time following politics, you'll run across idiotic arguments. When backed into a corner, those who operate in the political sphere often employ a "throw anything at the wall" defense where they desperately hope to wriggle their way out of a tight spot with some outlandish claim. It rarely works. Usually, they just end up sounding like morons. That said, I have NEVER heard someone try something as utterly and completely asinine as what ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber tried yesterday. I mean, the following clip is so astonishing in both its ignorance and arrogance that it deserves a place of honor in the "I can't believe he said that" wing of the Smithsonian. No, I'm not exaggerating.

Jonathan Gruber - a man famous for bragging that the ACA relied on the "stupidity of the American voter" for passage

Yes, you heard that right. No, really. You did. Jonathan Gruber - a man famous for bragging that the ACA relied on the "stupidity of the American voter" for passage - just tried to blame Donald Trump for the law's collapse. I could go into the nuts and bolts of why this is so completely insane, but I won't. There's no point. Anyone who hears Gruber's claim will instantly know it to be the desperate raving of a madman. Enrollment has NEVER lived up to what was promised. The law NEVER saved the average family $2500.00 a year. It NEVER "let you keep your plan." It NEVER lowered costs, it NEVER improved care, and it has NEVER enjoyed widespread support. Insurers were abandoning counties and states before Trump even announced his candidacy. ...But, mark my words, this garbage is the new narrative. Republicans have dared to target the messiah's "signature law" and people like Gruber will be the advance force, carrying the banner of the left-wing counterattack. They present their moronic argument, and they suffer the consequences. That's OK. They're sacrificial pawns who are already damaged, so the left can afford to lose them. The claim is now out there, and the second wave can start the effort to normalize it. Memories are short. So, the longer they stand their ground, the better their chances of selling their unmitigated lie. We've seen this play out a thousand times before. Don't let it happen here.
