Philanthropic Initiative: "Say Goodnight to Hunger"



Omni Hotels & Resorts has launched an amazing brand-wide program called Say Goodnight to Hunger. Through this on-going initiative, for every stay booked directly on OmniHotels.com, Omni will make a donation to Feeding America that will provide a family of four dinner for an entire week. Omni's goal is to help Feeding America provide more than 18.2 million meals each year for food banks to feed kids, families and seniors in communities across the United States. Say Goodnight to Hunger is the largest campaign launched by a Feeding America hospitality partner.

That's why niche private equity firm, Rockbridge, is investing in more than just hotels and breaking the mold of corporate social responsibility by investing in Rock the Road in participation with Pelotonia. Rockbridge created Rock the Road conference, the largest single-event cycling fundraiser benefiting cancer research in the United States, in support of cancer awareness and raising funds for cancer research, which to date has raised over $1.2 million.

TPC Network Golf

Location: Nationwide Website: Tpc.com Philanthropic Initiative: Varies--Birdies for the Brave/The First Tee Details: In the first half of 2016, the PGA TOUR's TPC Network--a collection of 34 premier private, resort and daily fee golf properties designed by some of golf's most elite architects-- raised over half a million dollars for national charities such as Birdies for the Brave and The First Tee, as well as benefitting local nonprofit organizations "adopted" by individual clubs in order to make a difference in their respective communities. Fundraising takes place through a variety of club initiatives, ranging from golf tournaments to dining experiences. A few recent initiatives where community members were invited to participate and help make a difference include:
  • TPC Sugarloaf "Twenty-Fore Straight" Golf Marathon to defeat childhood cancer. Tournament took place July 17-18, 2016 and raised more than $50k in its first year (Duluth, GA).
  • TPC National Restaurant Week--TPC clubs across the Network joined forces to raise money for charity through food July 20-26, 2016. That week, a portion of all proceeds went to Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organizations.
  • TPC River's Bend annual Think Pink Cure Golf Tournament, benefitting the Mary Jo Cropper Family Center for Breast Care. Tournament took place July 25, 2016 and has raised more than $250k in three years (Maineville, OH).
  • TPC ROSE at TPC Twin Cities--a group of 60 philanthropic women raise money through golf to support local nonprofits. Tournament scheduled Aug. 23, 2016 (Blaine, MN).
Established with the mission of building and maintaining golf facilities to host PGA TOUR events, the TPC Network also continues to support their fundraising efforts by providing rent-free venues for tournaments, allowing more money to go to various charitable causes supported by the PGA TOUR. In this year's tournament circuit, 19 TPC properties will host tournaments across the PGA TOUR, and with contributions and attendance trending up, it's expected for the TOUR to surpass last year's record $160 million.
