Police reports show multiple women accused jailed IT staffer, Imran Awan, of battery, abuse, wiretapping, blackmail

We're learning more about Debbie Wasserman Schultz's favorite IT staffer, Imran Awan, and none of what we're hearing is good. You'll recall that Wasserman Schultz refused to fire Awan, even though she knew he was at the center of a a criminal investigation by the FBI and U.S. Capitol Police. According to the former DNC Chairwoman, he needed protection because he was the target of a racist, bigoted, right-wing witch-hunt. Finally, after he was arrested while trying to flee to Pakistan, she reluctantly sent him packing.
Now, thanks to a FOIA request, we've learned that several women - on multiple occasions over three eyars -called police for help because Awan was abusive. From the Daily Caller News Foundation:
Multiple women in relationships with Imran Awan, the indicted former IT aide for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, have recently called Virginia law enforcement and alleged being abused by him, police reports obtained under Virginia’s Freedom of Information Act show. Officers found one of the women bloodied and she told them she “just wanted to leave,” while the second said she felt like a “slave,” according to Fairfax County Police reports obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group. A third woman claimed she was being kept “in captivity.” The third woman is Awan’s stepmother, Samina Gilani, who said in court documents that Awan invoked his authority as a congressional employee to intimidate immigrant women, in part by telling them he had the power to have people kidnapped. All but two of the nearly two dozen Democratic women Awan worked for in the House declined to comment on the police reports.

You can read the grim details - including women begging for transport to shelters, accusations of captivity, and alleged wire-tapping and blackmail - at the link above. As you do, consider this:
  1. We've listened to Democrats carp about the mythical "war on women" for years. Yet, when faced with this set of accusations, all but two of two dozen of Awan's former employers refuse to comment? I could have sworn we were supposed to stand up, believe victims, and rush to their defense. Isn't that the Democrat mantra? Why such cowardly silence?
  2. It appears that police were, on a semi-regular basis, dealing with these calls. Did Wasserman Schultz know about it? I suppose it's possible, though it seems hard to believe that she wouldn't. If she was protecting this piece of garbage, while aware of his treatment of the women in his life, we need to know why. Her blatant lies about a "Republican witch-hunt" become even more inadequate if she had any knowledge of Awan's allegedly abusive nature.
  3. Can you imagine the media feeding frezny if Debbie Wasserman Schultz was the former head of the GOP? Has there ever been a more clear-cut case of media bias than this situation? Why isn't Jake Tapper covering this story every single night? Where are the holier-than-thou feminists of MSNBC? If the mainstream press is going to keep assuring us that their heretofore unseen "integrity" really exists, shouldn't they be all over this?
