Report: Feds place 80% of illegal immigrant kids with adults who are also in the U.S. illegally

By now, you're no doubt aware of the waves of "undocumented minors" that have been washing across the U.S. southern border. They arrive, they're given stuffed animals by Glenn Beck & Ted Cruz, and then they're...well...where do they go then? They certainly aren't being deported. So just what happens to them after they're given their complementary Steiff bear? According to the AP they go to...other illegals.
The vast majority of immigrant children who arrive alone at the U.S. border are placed by the government with adults who are in the country illegally, federal data reviewed by The Associated Press show. The government has long said that it places the children with family and friends regardless of immigration status. But since more children began arriving on the border in 2014, officials have not revealed how often those sponsors lack legal papers. In response to a Freedom of Information Act request, the Department of Health and Human Services provided data showing that 80 percent of the 71,000 mostly Central American children placed between February 2014 and September 2015 were sent to sponsors who were not here legally. Six percent were placed with adults who had temporary protected status, which has let some Central American citizens stay and work in the country legally for more than a decade. Four percent were sponsored by American citizens and 1 percent by immigrants facing deportation proceedings.
Yes; we know what you're thinking. If the feds know that the sponsors are illegals, why are they sending them more illegals to oversee? Shouldn't they be sending the young illegals back across the border before using the sponsor list as a way to deport their would-be hosts? Of course they should. Clearly, you're a sane person who understands something's wrong here. We also know that you probably understand what that "something" is. The left will embark upon any crusade it feels will diminish the value of U.S. citizenship, and the right is terrified of making waves that will generate bad press. As long as politicians - on both sides - think they can generate votes, money, or media insulation by protecting illegals and pandering to the people who support their cause, that's precisely what they'll do. Besides, as Alex Sink famously said, they need someone to clean their pools and hotel rooms, right?
