Rinos take leave while Dems double-down on impeachment

Rinos take leave while Dems double-down on impeachment Pressure from the base is finally breaking loose the staid RINO watch. Moments before writing this, Senator Jeff Flake announced that he will not seek re-election for his Arizona seat. Following in the footsteps of Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee, establishment republicans are vacating the Capitol before they're tossed out by a Steve Bannon inspired challenge. There is, however, one problem. These two, and others, still have months in office to continue Trump-trashing to promote the establishment (otherwise known as the Swamp) agenda. Even as Flake stands on the Senate floor declaring that he is standing down from office at the end of his term, he is doubling-down on his ill advised, liberal-based attacks on the president. Be assured that his quoting Madison's Federalist 51, et al, wishing to lay the problems within Congress at the feet of President Trump, it is a projection of his own actions, his divisive rhetoric that is foundering implementation of the president's campaign promises.
Thus far, the old guard, which Flake and Corker represent (particularly as two of the most acerbically responsive to Trump from within the party), has stood strongly against the agenda promoted by the president and the people who elected him. Flake has verbally attacked Trump's rebooting immigration law, and the Corker Bill was the instigation behind accepting the disastrous Iran Deal. Both have been undermining our nation from within Congress and their departure is heralded, though it will not come soon enough. As darts fly from the non-Trumpist members of Congress, there is another salvo being launched by the radical left. Tom Steyer, of billions made raping the environment only to turn and call for green energy, has launched a $10 Million ad campaign to impeach Trump. It doesn't matter to him that there are no grounds and the whole Russia investigation is a wash, Steyer is ever about lying to achieve his own ends. Does no one recall his imploring democrats to lie about their agenda in order to be elected in 2014? The facts are clear. All who despise Trump and his effort (at our behest) to disembowel the swampthing are throwing whatever they can devise at the Oval Office. None of it is based on fact and each volley dissipates in the fresh air of truth before it makes it to the target. As much as the retirement of RINOs is a celebratory development, we must remember that they haven't left the premises yet and most are determined to stir up as much sludge as possible. Keep your waders handy.
