Rebirth of the American Dream could not come at a better time

RIP old GOP

Eulogy: We gather here today to lay to rest a dear, dear friend. A friend that took us through wars, natural disasters, terrible economic times and used these tests of our will and strength to build us into the most marvelous country on the face of the globe! We say good bye today to a friend we could trust, someone we didn't always agree with, nevertheless someone we could count on to always keep America first. Someone that would listen to us and respond accordingly. Virtue, work, responsibility for our own destiny and taking care of neighbors truly in need were hallmarks of the movement.
The greatest asset of the Republican Party was, "God, Country, Family ", in exactly that order. That is the way the party priorities were set. That is the way policy was formed. That was the agenda vigorously pursued. That is the vision that made the USA the envy of the world. I can proudly say that was the mindset of Republican leadership when I first went to Congress in 1985. When Republicans took over control of the US House in 1994 for the first time since Eisenhower, there was great hope that we could change the left turning course the Democrats had established under their control. However, it was not to be. The Republican leadership had studied and learned too well the lessons taught by the Democrat leadership, power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. All the things we had suffered under and despised of the Democratic leadership were being practiced again under the mantle of Republican leadership. Power became game number one. Security in office was a close second. The focus switched from "country first" to "me first". And briefly, that is why we are here today.

The Party quit listening to the people. The Party refused to take ownership of the errors they were making. The Party became focused on protecting their own and the hell with the rest of us. No one knows what kind of a political party will form behind Mr. Trump. What will the "New Republican Party " look like? I sense a lot of people are supporting Mr. Trump for his "take control" attitude and "Putting America First" promise. Rebirth of the American Dream could not come at a better time. Old GOP, R.I.P.
