I have a talk I call The CPR Corollary. It is an overview of my new book of the same name. Last week, I gave that talk to Pistol Packin’ Petticoats, a Republican womens club. You can see a few segments on Video on YouTube.
In short, the examination of the movement to teach CPR to non-medical persons in the seventies was identical to the examinations of armed citizens today in 2011. How we take the controversy out of the issue of guns on campus, concealed carry of handguns, and the armed citizen in general is the substance of The CPR Corollary, the e-book. Non-profits and second amendment groups are adopting a poster of mine (The CPR Corollary) to showcase the comparison of how your two hands can save a life. You may soon see this poster at Fairs around the country where second amendment groups have a booth. Plans in development have some organizations blending CPR awareness with armed citizen values in the community interest.

The CPR Corollary is fifteen equivalents of how the ubiquitous armed citizen and CPR-trained person are identical in moral purpose and public interest. Fundamentally, the solution to the cardiac arrest patient is identical to the solution of an active shooter on campus, or in the workplace, in a national park, or anywhere: in the absence of first responders, your two hands can make all the difference in the world. Your two hands make all the difference because, whether Police or Paramedic, Law Enforcement or EMS cannot always arrive with a life-saving response time. In time of cardiac arrest or armed robbery, seconds count, and it can all be over in minutes. Or not. Being armed is as sensible as knowing CPR. Be sure to see the video.
