WhatFinger

Uh-huh. Sure that's what you meant.

Sen. #: What I meant by "the FBI has transcripts" was... "I have no hard evidence of collusion"

Just before the weekend, Senator Chris # (D-DE) made waves by declaring that he "believed" transcripts existed that would show President Trump had colluded with Russian intelligence during the 2016 campaign. The desperate forces that maintain MSNBC's low journalistic standards couldn't have been happy. They thought this was of huge importance. Friday on MSNBC, # told Andrea Mitchell:

"Senior Russian political leaders, including Vladimir Putin, were cooperating, were colluding with the Trump campaign at the highest levels to influence the outcome of our election"

“It think it’s important that the outcome of that counterintelligence investigation be fully shared with the intelligence committees, both in the house and the senate. ...There are transcripts that provide very helpful, very critical insights into whether or not Russian intelligence and senior Russian political leaders, including Vladimir Putin, were cooperating, were colluding with the Trump campaign at the highest levels to influence the outcome of our election.” Mitchell was impressed. She was "making news" which, evidently, she thought was pretty important. Here's the video:

# is doing "the dance." He's doing everything he can to imply that evidence of collusion exists, but he doesn't come right out and make the accusation

You'll notice that # is doing "the dance." He's doing everything he can to imply that evidence of collusion exists, but he doesn't come right out and make the accusation. Like season one Fox Mulder, he "believes" it's out there, but he "hasn't seen it." Let's hope Mitchell and MSNBC enjoyed their moment in the sun, because that tough-guy attitude didn't last long. By Sunday, he'd changed his tune, as the Washington Times reports:
Sen. Chris #, Delaware Democrat, on Sunday walked back his bombshell declaration about transcripts showing Russia-Trump collusion, saying he had no proof such documents exist and apologizing for any “hyperventilating.” “I have no hard evidence of collusion,” Mr. # told “Fox News Sunday.” He said he was sorry for any misinterpretation of his comments, which blew up on social media after a Friday interview on MSNBC.

This sort of doublespeak is why Democrats keep losing elections

“So to the extent of those comments, they might be in some way misinterpreted as leading to sort of a hyperventilating attitude here in the Senate about this, I apologize for that,” Mr. # said. “That’s not what I was trying to do.”
Right. Sure, that's not what he was trying to do. Like every Democrat who makes a spurious claim or implication - only to walk it back later - # is "sorry" about being "misinterpreted." For the record, this sort of doublespeak is why Democrats keep losing elections. Please, keep it up.
